I’m obsessed with the Sky’s social media. Here’s why: 1. Assumptions. Their posts assume you are a fan of the game, the league, the team, even individual players. They assume you’re already on board when the team pops up on your FYP or as suggested in your feed, making their posts inviting and accessible. It’s a sharp, successful tactic. 2. Humanity. Every single post has humanity in it. The players are people, the announcements are stories and not just press releases. This winter, posts about trades talked about the people more than the transactions. That shows they get social media. 3. Fun. A lot of brands can’t strike the right level of fun in their social—it’s either overboard and forced or dry like a business memo. The Sky handles do a good job of this, making it seem like a fun place to work and a fun fanbase to be part of. They get that people come to social media for the light stuff, but aren’t obnoxious about it. So, those are basically my reasons why you should apply for this job. How would I build my ideal social media department? I'm glad you asked. Here are my immediate hires: → Video Creator: Short Video Specialist → Producer: Content Curator → Analyst: Performance Analyst → Performance: Ads Specialist → Community Manager: Engager → Social Support: Customer Support → Campaign: influencer, creator work → Employee Advocacy: Brand Promoter → Director: Strategy And the sprinkle on top would be to have dedicated platform specialists who know each channel like the back of their hand. But I guess the popular route is rolling it all into the single title of Social Media Manager, so whatever.

FACT: PR agencies *almost always hire after* they have urgent hiring needs. FACTIER FACT: That creates crazy stress on your existing staff. 😫 Been there. Done that. That’s why *I’m hiring ahead of the rush* on agencies this fall. (In fact: we just hired an Account Manager today, who we’re pumped about!) Here’s why: 1. Inflation is dropping. 2. The Fed is about to start slashing interest rates. 3. And lots of tech companies sitting on the sidelines for the past year will finally take a proactive —vs reactive—posture on the PR front. All of that spells demand for PR agencies like Crackle PR. And folks, we’re not going to turn away great tech clients because we failed to anticipate the need.
