Do you want to live to 120?
Well, the secret to longevity might be less complicated than you think.
A good sense of humour, a positive outlook and staying away from toxic and negative people is more important than genes, ice baths or spartan diets according to Maria Branyas who is still going strong at 116 years of age.
Branyas is now taking part in geneticist Dr. Manel Esteller's research aimed at understanding why, despite her being chronologically a supercentenarian, her biological age remains extremely low.
In 1995, the UN estimated that there were 95,000 centenarians worldwide, and by 2100, it projects this to increase to over 20 million, describing it as a "silver tsunami."
The demand for anti-ageing and longevity science as well as solutions has exploded over the last couple of years. And understanding how to extend the human lifespan has become somewhat of a focal point for many billionaires, who devote themselves to ice baths, strict diets and certain supplements with a hope of achieving immortality.
The fantasy of living forever has endured for centuries, from the fountain of youth to gaining immortality from a magic spell. But, the gap between life and health expectancy is growing larger every year.
We might be living longer, but unfortunately not healthier, with more multiple long-term conditions like asthma, diabetes, obesity and heart disease on the rise.
Muhdo Health is a data-driven personalised and a preventative health and wellness ecosystem that integrates epigenetics, genetics, health, nutrition, cognitive testing, facial tracking into an app-based platform - all feeding into a large, rich and well-curated, longitudinal health data proposition.
Our efforts are focussed on improving the gap between life and health expectancy with epigenetic science and AI helping to identifying the best pathways to maintain and improve our health and making us as active in our 80’s as we were in our 40’s and 50’s, as well as preventing future illness.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “The best way to predict your future was to create it”, which in many ways should be tweaked slightly to...
