#SRT may be the loan market buzz word of the moment, but credit risk transfers in a variety of guises have long been used by banks for a variety of reasons, regulatory and otherwise. This seminar and drinks reception is intended to bring together senior stakeholders from the length of the loan life cycle to identify liquidity bottlenecks and discuss viable solutions to age-old problems. #creditrisktransfer #srt #cri #loanmarkets

Since launching last year, Andalusian Credit Partners has established itself as a value-added lender to sponsor-backed and non-sponsored borrowers in the core middle market with unique sector expertise, a disciplined approach to risk management, and a clean balance sheet. In a recent Q&A, Aaron Kless, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, discusses the firm’s investment strategy and differentiators in today’s private credit market. “There is a huge white space opportunity for our investment strategy…In a higher rate environment where there is a plethora of interesting investment opportunities, not having legacy portfolio distractions frees us up to go and pick and choose the deals that we want to do on the terms that we want to do them,” says Kless. Aaron Kless, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Andalusian Credit Partners, recently appeared on “Bloomberg Markets” with Sonali Basak and Alix Steel to discuss Andalusian’s differentiated strategy and focus on non-sponsored and sponsor-backed borrowers across the U.S. core middle market, the resilience of the sports, media and entertainment, and financial and specialty services sectors in today’s higher interest rate and inflationary environments, and the influx of opportunities we are seeing as commercial and regional banks continue to contract their lending activities. “We really focus on businesses in the sports sector, media and entertainment, and financial and specialty services sectors. So you’ll see a common theme [among those sectors is] some exposure to consumers, but in ways we think are a little bit more insulated from recessionary or inflationary pressures,” said Kless. Most corporate treasurers will be aware of the Loan Market Association (LMA) from being faced with LMA documentation on loan and Schuldschein transactions. However, not everyone is familiar with what the LMA does, its purpose, how they produce their forms of documentation and how they interact with borrowers. The German Association of Corporate Treasurers (formerly known as Verband Deutscher Treasurer e.V. ) spoke to Kam Hessling, Senior Director at the LMA to find out more. As the end of Q1 approaches, our CEO Scott McMunn shares in his latest monthly update how we are gaining momentum across many of the key areas of our 2024 strategy. ✔ So far this year we’ve welcomed 35 new members to the LMA, including members from sectors that are previously less well represented, such as tech providers, institutional investors and asset allocators from across our many jurisdictions ✔ We’ve established a plan to address challenges in the loan settlement process, and will launch a new Operations newsletter and build toward the Operations Conference in June. Our loan operations initiatives will be led by Paul Taylor, who has recently joined us as a staff – welcome Paul! ✔ We’ve put together our events calendar for 2024, focusing on a smaller number of higher-impact events, including an event in May for younger lenders and bankers – watch this space ✔ On the regulatory front, our next immediate delivery will be on ESMA reporting standards, which is due in March, and we welcome any feedback from our members Scott also shares highlights from conferences this month, including the APLMA Global Loan Market Summit in Hong Kong, the Africa Bonds, Loans & ESG Capital Markets Conference in Cape Town, and the LSTA /LMA Joint Conference in London. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events throughout the year. In the coming month, we will launch a new ESG quarterly, “Horizons”, which will offer thought-provoking commentary and expert perspectives on sustainable finance – an area that is at the forefront of the LMA’s work. Do follow our LinkedIn updates to be among the first ones to find out about the official launch! #lma #loanmarkets
