Mixed-use projects with high-rise apartment living and lower level urban activation have become the development theme for future Perth, with a new proposal reported on an almost weekly basis! There are literally 10’s of 1,000’s of new apartments on the drawing board and at varying stages of development approval. With the state government having the power to approve these developments, and a housing crisis, it has been long while since approval has been denied. The question becomes, “When will these developments be built?” as the constrained construction sector plays catch-up to all the languishing incentivised new home builds, along with significant private development and government infrastructure construction. https://lnkd.in/gJRvqCyx

Second contract award at Riverside Sunderland 📣 Esh Construction has been appointed by Sunderland City Council to lead on the first phase of Riverside Park, an ambitious project to transform swathes of land spanning both sides of the River Wear into a new city centre park. The park will be situated at the heart of Riverside Sunderland, one of the UK’s largest urban regeneration projects, which is breathing new life into the city’s former industrial heartland. Last month, Esh also secured the Sunderland Sheepfolds public realm project, taking the total schemes to be delivered at Riverside Sunderland to £10 million. Esh Construction has broken ground on an £18.9m zero-gas affordable homes scheme in Sheffield. 77 new homes with enhanced sustainability credentials are being delivered on behalf of Sheffield City Council. All homes will be fitted with air source heat pumps instead of traditional gas boilers, as well as enhanced insulation and electric vehicle (EV) chargers.
