Above and beyond is an understatement.
This past Monday, Boca Woods proudly hosted the Florida Atlantic University Job Fair, welcoming aspiring hospitality professionals. Our team, alongside representatives from neighboring Country Clubs, engaged with talented individuals throughout the event. Over lunch, provided by Chef Jeff Terentieff and his team, attendees enjoyed inspiring stories from our leaders - Nicole Thompson, aPHR, Michelle Benitez, Kimberly Weber, Michaela Berinato, and Jordan Findlay. The day ended with a dynamic "speed dating style" interview session with each Club. Big thanks to Adriane W., Nicole Thompson, aPHR, JB Ward, and FAU for organizing this impactful event. Are you interested in new innovative ways to recruit? Then join us at Eccles Town Hall for our inaugural Reverse Job Fair... What's it all about..? A reverse job fair is an innovative event where the roles are reversed. Job seekers have their own stands where they showcase their skills and experiences, and employers walk around the venue, visiting candidates that align with their employment needs. This format provides a unique opportunity for employers to meet a diverse range of candidates in a more personal and detailed manner than traditional jobs fairs or recruitment events. More here... Q: What exactly is a Reverse Job Fair? A: Imagine a traditional job fair turned on its head! Instead of employers setting up booths, it’s the job seekers who showcase their skills and experiences at their own tables. Employers walk around, engage in conversations, and discover potential candidates. Q: What role do employers play at this event? A: Employers are the audience with a unique opportunity to meet a diverse group of talented individuals, learn about their skills, and even discuss potential job opportunities. It’s a chance to see the person behind the CV. Q: Who sets up the tables at a Reverse Job Fair? A: The job seekers themselves! Each participant sets up a table to represent their skills, experiences, and the type of work they’re seeking. It’s a personal touch that adds depth to their professional profile. Q: Do I need to have vacancies in my company to attend? A: Not necessarily on the day. If you are anticipating recruitment for specific roles in the future but these positions are not yet open, you are still encouraged to attend. Feel free to bring along job specifications and share the expected timescale for recruitment. This event offers a fantastic opportunity to get ahead in finding the perfect candidate for upcoming roles. Q: Why is the job fair organised in this manner? A: This format empowers job seekers to present themselves in a creative and personal way, while employers get a clearer, more holistic view of potential candidates. It’s a win-win: candidates stand out, and employers find hidden gems. Q: Why should I attend this Reverse Job Fair? A: Beyond the opportunity to fill current vacancies, you’ll be networking, promoting your company, and perhaps most importantly, supporting an inclusive employment landscape. It’s an investment in the community and in the future of your business. Mark Your Calendar! When: 26th March Where: Eccles Town Hall Hosted by: Salford Supported Employment Service Interested? To book your place and for more information, please contact agata.potoczek@salford.gov.uk. Let’s explore how we can create meaningful employment opportunities together! #salford #recruitment #jobs #opportunities #supportedemployment

The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation is celebrating a successful second #ShopCove Quarterly Popup Market and #HireCove Job Fair. This quarter’s event had a total of 47 registered vendors, including 4 young entrepreneurs, and 2 food trucks - Thai Law and Rissy’s Slappin Sips and Bangin Bites. Upbeat music provided by local business Rainbow Heart Studio filled the building while over 200 people browsed, shopped, and chatted throughout the event. Vendors had a wide variety of products on display. There were unique baked goods like protein cake pops from Healthy Hub and Ube cookies from PINASarap Cookies, fun drinks like boba from Griego's Bobalicious Emporium and healthy smoothies from A Better Nutrition. There were numerous gift ideas, jewelry, home decor, clothes & accessories, bath & body products, art, and more. Service based vendors were also present to give information on how to set up consultations or how to book services. These included businesses like Kitchen Tune Up with kitchen renovations and Lasting Memories with local dance classes. The goal of the #ShopCove project is to create visibility for local small businesses, opportunities for them to operate, and to encourage the community to shop local. Janet Schmitt of Shatzi’s Closet said, “[The EDC has] done exactly that and I sincerely appreciate the assistance and support [they] give small businesses. Without [their] team, we would not have this opportunity. I look forward to participating in many more pop up markets.” The job fair section saw 13 companies represented for the event (doubling last quarter’s job fair numbers.) Companies represented included The City of Copperas Cove, Central Texas College, Central Texas College Continuing Education, Pet Supplies Plus, T-Mobile, Randstad, Building Talent Foundation, Copperas Cove ISD, Party-N-Jump, First National Bank, AKIMA, Killeen Police Department, and InteLogix. The goal of the #HireCove Job Fair is to help bridge the gap between local job seekers and hiring companies. This goal definitely saw progress this quarter. Several community members filled out applications and some even had on the spot interviews. The continued success of the job fair shows there is a need to assist job seekers and employers seeking workers in Copperas Cove. Workforce Development Specialist Brittany Sanders and Executive Director Fred Welch are planning on facilitating a bigger job fair only event in the future. The next #ShopCove Quarterly Popup Market will be November 25th, 2023 for Small Business Saturday. The next #HireCove Job Fair will tentatively be in early 2024.
