🤯 1M+ context window with the Meta's latest Open Source Llama-3 8b model is achieved! This version of the Llama-3 8B model, developed by Gradient and supported by computational resources from Crusoe Energy, has expanded its context length from 8k to over 1040K. It showcases that state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs) can adapt to longer contexts with limited training. https://lnkd.in/d2WmZT9X However, using a 256k context window requires at least 64GB of memory and using a 1M+ context window requires significantly more (100GB+) memory on a local machine. This is a significant achievement. Although running this model locally demands substantial resources, you can still run and utilize Meta's Llama-3 8B model with the original 8K context window on your local machine by integrating our #Ollama package into your automation flows. 🦙 Ollama allows you to run open-source large language models, such as #Llama3, locally.
