The “world’s largest security operations outside of war.” Sydney spent $250 million in 2000 while the security budget is now in the $2.5 billion range. Paris Olympic Games, security officials are conducting large-scale surveillance across the city, all done under a temporary law allowing automated surveillance systems to detect “predetermined events” that could indicate potential terrorist threats. More than 50 drones have been intercepted by French law enforcement agencies, and more than 5,000 individuals barred from the opening ceremony. Historically, the Olympics have been a showcase for security technologies, with countries sometimes purchasing surveillance systems showcased at the games. After the 2008 Beijing Olympics, for example, Ecuador and other countries bought surveillance equipment demonstrated during the event. This trend continues. LiveU technology stands as a linchpin, facilitating seamless communication across diverse jurisdictions. LiveU solutions allow you to reliably transmit video from any source, such as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV), helicopters, dashcams and bodycams, to any destination, including HQ, Mobile Command Centers or even first responder devices, supporting the mission of public safety Reliable video from ANYWHERE Designed for mobile use, LiveU’s portable and light-weight public safetysolutions allow public safety organizations to gain real-time location-independent connectivity. The European Union, including France, is currently refining the European Union’s AI Act, The Paris temporary surveillance law, expiring in March 2025, mandates that algorithms under its purview “do not process any biometric data and do not implement any facial recognition techniques. They cannot carry out any reconciliation, interconnection, or automated linking with other processing of personal data.” Instead of relying solely on biometric analysis, officials can employ broadcast quality, efficient, guaranteed surveillance for real-time crowd analysis, a technique with a long history. While crowds may be unpredictable, good old intelligence analysis of crowd behavior is a well-established. In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, foreign threats require a united front. The recent article from The Hill underscores the pressing concern of Chinese drones being utilized for intelligence and potential weaponization. This is not a partisan issue but a national security imperative. Democrats and Republicans can and must work together to address these challenges, ensuring that our policies protect American interests and maintain our technological edge. By collaborating across the aisle, we can develop robust strategies that safeguard our nation's security and uphold our values. Let's prioritize unity and cooperation to confront these threats head-on. #Bipartisan #NationalSecurity #UnitedWeStand

In my humble opinion SHORAD without integrated C-UAS should be considered an ineffective system. SHORAD without effective a jammer or kinetic counter uav option is as outdated as an SA-2.

Yet another NASAMS destroyed in Ukraine. It was unable to protect itself against a surveillance drone that coordinated the attack. Clearly, also modern SHORAD systems need dedicated CUAS protection. # SKYctrl

#CyberAlerts The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) alerts to the rising threat of Chinese-manufactured unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in critical infrastructure. CISA, in collaboration with the FBI, emphasizes the risk of sensitive information exposure to Chinese authorities due to the legal obligations of prominent Chinese-owned UAS manufacturers. The guidance urges critical infrastructure operators to transition to secure-by-design UAS systems with robust security measures, as Chinese-manufactured or insecure UAS devices pose a national security concern, risking unauthorized access to systems and data, according to Bryan Vorndan, FBI Cyber Division Assistant Director. CCGI client, Integrated Surveillance & Defense, was awarded a $4.6 million USD contract by the Iowa Department of Public Safety's Iowa State Patrol (ISP) to provide a state-of-the-art Cessna® Grand Caravan® EX aircraft with advanced surveillance technology. The aircraft will have a side mounted L3Harris MX-15 Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor, the Shotover Augmented Reality Systems (ARS) mapping system, and the VISLINK AeroLink Downlink. Example of a side mounted EO/IR system can be seen in the aircraft photo below, which ISD provided to the U.S. Air Force. The integration of the MX-15 EO/IR camera system onto the aircraft will provide the ISP with a medium-altitude surveillance, reconnaissance, and search and rescue capability. The camera system offers multi-sensor imaging and lasing payloads and High Definition EO and IR imagery. It also provides real-time image enhancement for EO day, EO night, and IR, which greatly enhances image detail and scene contrast. The aircraft will also feature the Shotover Augmented Reality System (ARS) mapping system application, which provides advanced sensor control, recording, playback, and export capabilities. This system provides situational awareness to the user with information about the sensor's pointing location relative to the aircraft and geographic references. It also enables ISP officers to track targets, obtain accurate speed and heading, and provide map location capability. Furthermore, ISD will provide the Vislink Aerolink Transmission System, which will enable the transmission of digital HD video collected by the aircraft to ground-based elements. This system can transmit a 4K video stream or two 1080p HD video streams simultaneously providing the ISP actionable intelligence, facilitating its operational flexibility, and enabling fast and effective decision-making by their command elements. President of ISD, Blaise Dagilaitis, expressed his excitement for the contract, stating, "The Cessna Grand Caravan EX with EO/IR capability will complement the Cirrus SR-22 and Cessna 206s delivered in 2021 and enhance the ISR capabilities of the Iowa State Patrol. Additionally, the selection of the same mapping system in this aircraft, along with the Cirrus SR-22 and Cessna 206s, enables commonality, which reduces training and maintenance time, while increasing operational effectiveness." ISD has a proven track record in delivering similar programs to U.S. Federal and State law enforcement agencies, as well as United States and international militaries. With over 25 Cessna aircraft surveillance solutions successfully deployed, ISD has worked with notable organizations such as the Illinois State Police, Hillsborough County Sheriff, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Pakistan, Cameroon Air Force, Kenya Ministry of Defense, and the United States Air Force.
