I’ve been very fortunate to be selected for the Defence Industry Study Course this year. DISC is run annually to promote a better understanding and engagement between both Defence and Industry. The course brings together and exposes participants to key aspects of the environment in which Defence and Industry will need to navigate, collaborate and partner in order to successfully deliver and sustain capability for our armed forces. Part of our remit is to raise awareness of and funds for Legacy Australia. Legacy provides caring and compassionate support for 40,000 families of ADF men and women who have lost their life or health, and 1,200 children and dependants with a disability. Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of veterans' families through innovative and practical assistance aimed protecting individuals and families’ basic needs, advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits, assisting families through bereavement and helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss. To help us raise funds, you can click on the link below and donate directly to the DISC Legacy Challenge. https://lnkd.in/g4g5yyUa If you’re not in a position to donate, a like or repost will really help to drive visibility. I really appreciated the opportunity to present to 5 groups from the DISC Program who visited the Hunter Class Frigate Programme Shipyard on Thursday this week. Such a diverse group ranging from Public Servants to ADF Officers to employees from Defence Industry. Thank you for listening and engaging and tolerating my ongoing cough throughout. You were a very motivated and interested group! 😀
