The driver was clearly sleepy, driving fast, and despite my repeated requests to slow down, he refused to acknowledge his drowsiness. On multiple occasions during the 25 km journey, he zigzagged the vehicle, and it wasn’t until I raised my voice that he finally slowed down. He later admitted that he had overstretched, taking on two additional rides unnecessarily. This incident made me question—how is passenger safety being ensured on such platforms? If a driver is sleep-deprived or overworked, it’s not just a risk for one passenger, it’s a danger to many. I sincerely hope Ola and other ride-hailing services take such concerns seriously and put in place stricter safeguards to prevent such incidents.
