It is no secret that seniors want to stay in their homes as long as possible. Varying articles show anywhere from 75%-90% of seniors want to age in place. Many people have challenged that data, as do we. Over the years we have helped thousands of seniors who are reluctant to move only to thrive in an Assisted Living community. An updated analysis from the National Council on Aging and LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMass Boston finds that 27 million households with adults age 60 and older cannot afford basic living needs. While income and home values saw slight increases, the overall wealth of this population declined. This underscores the need for support systems for older adults.
