ASB week of action Last week, the Council’s Community Safety team, in partnership with the police, carried out a week-long initiative targeting anti-social behaviour (ASB) as part of our commitment to keeping Barnet safer, which involved joint patrols using our new CCTV van and hosting community safety pop-up hubs. We encouraged residents to report breaches of Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) and Immobilise, a valuable tool for protecting belongings against theft, increasing the likelihood of recovery. Outcomes from the week included: ✅ 175 new cases opened for investigation by the Community Safety Team. ✅ 104 fly-tips reported, investigated, and cleared by our Street Scene Team. ✅ 50 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued for ASB, environmental crimes, and PSPO violations. ✅ 6 PSPO breaches referred for prosecution ✅ 172 commercial waste audits completed to ensure businesses are waste management compliant. Cllr Conway, Barnet Council’s lead on community safety, said: “Thanks so much to our dedicated community safety team for their hard work every week in all weathers tackling ASB, including working in partnership with local police. We really welcome the difference our ongoing investment in CCTV is making together with the continued impact of the Public Space Protection Order and the pop-up community safety hubs we put in place”. #BarnetCST #PSPO #ASB
And what about this community trying to reach out for 2.5 years about needing help?? Why are we being ignored? Barnet Council you are great at publicaly showing that you are actively doing stuff… but the council team are even better at IGNORING its residents complaining about fly tipping in our area. We are completely ignored as the affected area is an alleyway and out of “public sight” After a good 2.5 years of countless emails being sent to the Barnet street cleaning team as well as cllr MP Dan Tomlinson ( to be fair he did ONCE before he became MP send an internal email that got Zahra B. To reply, then it went all silent - reached out again after he became MP and NOTHING) and CLLR Zahra Beg CLLR Barry Rawlings CLLR Tim Roberts Simon Throssell - maybe you can bring this to someone’s attention?? I have countless times picked up my trash collection kit (little picker and my wheelie bins) and cleaned up and removed the more dangerous items (sharp metals / broken bottles etc.) BUT it’s useless as it seems people have realised Barnet council doesn’t care about this part so it’s becoming worse by the day. #flytipping #barnetCouncil #environment #streetcleaning #Taxpayer #politics #THEYDONTCAREABOUTOURTAXES
