We are delighted to announce that last year’s annual public health report has been selected as a national winner in the Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH) Annual Report Celebration 2024 🎉 🎉 🎉   Each year, every Director of Public Health publishes an independent annual report focusing on a health and wellbeing issue affecting local communities. Camden’s 2023 report focused on adolescent health and the issues that young people are facing in the borough.   The report was coproduced by Camden Youth: Tell Them, a group of local young people aged 16-21, who explored the report data and then worked with an illustrator to show the key findings in the form of a graphic novel called Step into Our Shoes. The young people were paid the London Living Wage for their time, their travel expenses were reimbursed and they are working towards a project management qualification equal to a GCSE 9-6.   Camden Youth: Tell Them were proud of their win, telling us "It’s such an honour to have won a national award. We’re all incredibly proud of bringing awareness to the problems that young people in Camden face and standing up for this underrepresented group."   Camden Youth: Tell Them are now working on a coproduced campaign to signpost young people to healthcare services in Camden, which will launch in September. Congrats guys!!! A pretty fun project to work on with you!!!

Sign post to which services? Camden doesn’t have any! Where are the experiences of #SEND children? These children did a good job but let’s not forget it was heavily managed and the voices of children in Camden without health support or education weren’t included
