Staff Spotlight | Maria N.    What is your job title and where are you based?  I am the Occupational Hygiene Manager, based at Wollert, Victoria.    Tell us about what your job entails? Primarily my role is to prevent and respond to occupational hygiene-related exposures at all Brickworks sites. This includes providing specialist advice, air monitoring, and if required, providing the expertise to inform any initiatives to reduce risk to health and safety associated with occupational hygiene hazards in the workplace.   Can you share one of your most valuable on-the-job learning experiences? #OSHA is at it again with its aggressive #rulemaking in seeking to expand the reach of its Fire Brigade (#Emergencyresponse) rule. The proposed rule would impose new requirements on #manufacturers, #warehousers, #construction companies, #retailers, public and private #firedepartments, and other employers who have employees designated to respond to emergencies. The proposed rule includes new requirements related to training, facility preparedness, equipment, personal protective equipment (#PPE), vehicle preparedness, post-incident analysis, minimum medical and physical requirements, behavioral health and wellness resources, and health and fitness programs. OSHA extended the comment period until June 21. Anyone else think this administration has its hands in too many pots, making it difficult to accomplish its goals? What about updating the #LOTO standard which is much needed to catch up to modern technological advances? Whatever happened to the #COVID-19 rule for healthcare? What about advancing the rulemaking process on #heatillnessprevention or #workplaceviolence in healthcare and the social services industries?
