What is the impact of marketing academia in real life? "Hard to tell", but sometimes we find proxies. For example the Cannes Lions speaker lineup. The Cannes Lions are the Oscars of the ad-world without the thrills of somebody getting slapped on stage. Anyhow, out of 368 registered speakers (if I counted correctly), 2 are academics and 1 is a former academic. That is 0.5% or 0.8% (depending on how strict you want to be). No matter how you spin that - something is off... and since I don't want to be the bad guy, I diverted to the Ritson Bot for help. It's been a busy few months for me. One of the things I've been working on is a course. Working in collaboration w Jason Bagley (Former ECD @ Weiden + Kennedy) I'm launching a course on social media marketing under his The Audacious School of Astonishing Pursuits umbrella. I've been chipping away at it for about a year and now It's finally live. It encompasses so much of what I've learned in my (nearly 20 year long) career in the space. From the high-level psychology of social media to the very tactical. This covers how to take complex campaigns, assets, platforms and requests and translate them to comprehensive social strategies. How to ranslate ideas to content. There’s a very in-depth overview of how to execute influencer marketing campaigns and a ton more. Shout out to adage for covering 👍

It's always great and motivating to be recognised for your work, and it's a huge honor to be selected among the industry's most talented people for the M-list Dansk Markedsføring (Danish Marketing Association). One of the questions i got from the jury was what I think is the most undervalued skill in our profession today? to which I answered that I think it's the ability to be able to unite technological and creative skills to create innovative and meaningful content and campaigns now and in the future. An ability and skill that I believe we posses at Khora Virtual Reality. If the future is in fact spatial the entire industry needs to follow the progression and embrace it instead of fearing the change.
