Someone please help me find a job fair! I'm looking for an opportunity where I can best utilize my talents. I'm on the lookout for a local job fair where I can set up and offer free headshots onsite! Why? 1. I love headshots. 2. Doing good is ALWAYS good. 3. If I can help someone’s candidacy look 3% better, it just might be the 3% they needed. Additionally, there are personal benefits: 1. My network will grow. 2. Perfection doesn’t happen without practice. 3. This WILL pay off for me at some point; it has before and will again. For interested job fairs: 1. An 8’x8’ space would be great! 2. Hi-speed wifi would also be helpful. 3. There’s no catch; doing good is always good Examples attached. More examples at https://lnkd.in/gf2GKVqW Thank you my colleagues and friends!!

Yesterday I attended a local job fair and today I attended a virtual job fair hosted by HiConselor. I received alot of good information about what should be in your resume and how it should look. Nowadays most companies use some form of ATS to review your resume to make sure you have what they are looking for. I discovered this article on the internet that explains how the ATS works and how to make your resume ATS friendly. Here is the link https://lnkd.in/gzzrUhYf so you can visit the website for other useful information they have. I also learned that most companies are now wanting you to get some experience which is hard to do, unless you can land an internship. HiCounselor told us that starting Monday you could go to their website and select the projects tab and you can work on any of the projects for free. This will help you get some experience that could help you land a job. I think this is an awsome way to help those of us who have no experience get the experience we need.

Today let's talk In-Person Job Fairs! 🌟 Please share your experience with them either as job seekers or employers. I ask because an Eventbrite advertisement popped up for a job fair in Tampa Florida, where I’m located. I signed up to go on Wednesday. I've NEVER been to a job fair! 👀 So I’m wondering two things: 1) How do I prepare? 🔹Do I take printed resumes with me? 🔹Do I take business cards (I don’t have any) 🔹How do I market myself for a job that could exist in many different industries? (UX Researcher or various Writer positions) 2) What should I expect? 🔹Do people have in-depth conversations about their job openings? 🔹Are the conversations more general for future opportunities? 🔹Do these events ever yield actual hiring? 🔹How should I measure when to leave/how do I make the most of my energy while I’m there? 💼 Obviously I’m gonna go dressed professionally and ready to talk about myself and my skills. But I could use any other tips you have for a successful experience at a job fair. And by successful I mean making connections and networking, not necessarily finding a job that day! ❓ What have been your experiences at job fairs? Any absolute Dos or Don’ts? ♻ Repost for others who are unsure about job fairs as well
