We're pleased to share ABC's first BIG win of 2025: the U.S. Court of Federal Claims ruled in favor of ABC members that filed bid protests challenging former President Biden’s controversial policy requiring anti-competitive, inflationary, union-favoring project labor agreements (PLAs) on federal construction projects of $35 million or more. Overall, this court decision promotes fair and open competition in the construction industry, benefiting both construction firms and taxpayers. Monumental wins like this are made possible by the contributions and donations made by ABC members like you. We can do way more than we think we can. Here is a great example showing how a simple safety intervention works in the wild.
Despite what you might have heard, raised crosswalks on arterials and ladder 🚒 trucks are compatible. (Video of ladder truck going over the raised crosswalk next to Powell Barnett Park in Seattle without issue this past weekend)

Ports Ports are a kind of sub-address. The IP address is the primary address, and the port is the sub- address. Using a well-worn but effective metaphor, think of the IP address as the street address of a building and then the port as the apartment number. I need the street address to get to the correct building, but I need the apartment address to find the individual person. This is similar to ports. The IP address gets us to the right host, but the port takes us to the proper service, say HTTP on port 80.There are 65,536 (2 raised to the 16th power) ports.

Today we are highlighting one of our most frequently asked questions about FCIF financial assistance! ➡️ Do grant applicants have to work in flooring? 💡 No! At FCIF, we understand the importance of supporting families in the flooring industry. While the applicant themselves doesn't need to be directly employed in flooring, a household family member must have worked in the industry for at least 5 years. This helps ensure we're reaching those who have contributed to the flooring community and are in need of assistance. 🔗 Learn more at Fcif.org! #FCIF #Grants #FlooringIndustry #Families
