London Sport would like to announce a new project, delivered in partnership with Sport England and management consultants, Knight Kavanagh & Page (KKP), to identify, review and address the greatest challenges surrounding access to, and the protection of playing fields, in London.  Playing fields play a crucial role in support the delivery of community sport and informal recreation across the Capital. However, there are significant concerns over the increasing pressure being placed on existing playing field sites, with some either at risk of being closed to the public, at risk of being closed, or even being sold off privately. KKP is delighted to have been appointed to work with London Sport and Sport England on this essential project. We are currently in the process of organising a series of first stage meetings with London boroughs, NGBs, sports organisations and other interested public, charitable, voluntary and private sector parties in and across London. We would definitely be keen to get involved. Access to pitches is increasingly hard for our adult teams and with significant ongoing growth in participation this challenge is only going to increase over the coming years. 👍

Good iniative …. But no mention of private sector involvement which there should be in an effective mixed economy . Come on London Sport … Innovate !
