Fundraising channel trends captured this year by the European Fundraising Association (EFA) showed greater diversity than ever in fundraising channels. Social media, websites and email topped the list of most favoured channels, but most noticeable growth was seen in face-to-face fundraising as it rose to #4, overtaking mail and telephone from the previous year. As the cost of living crisis continues, regular supporters are making tough decisions about their ability to continue giving at this level. A paper from the Productivity Commission highlighted that small charities are the most common in Australia, but many are stretched and are reliant on philanthropic giving. The report found that among the 60,000 plus registered charities in Australia, over half of all charities operate without paid staff. On average, charities with revenue under $250,000 receive 40% of their total revenue from donations, as opposed to grants or selling goods and services. Are Donor-Advised Funds Facilitating Opaque Giving to Politically Engaged Charities?
