What an amazing day I had at the Care Show! Listen, networking is super underrated. The amount of learning I picked up from spending 6 hours at the Care Show yesterday was phenomenal. I spoke with Care Leaders, marketing gurus, tech founders, clinical practitioners, deal-makers, strategic advisors and most importantly, people-who-get-things-done on a day to day basis. One thing I love about Care is how relatable it is to everyone. Drawing on Amrit Dhaliwal QFP's 'Mum Test', almost everyone in the room has an idea of how Care should work, because it is a very personal thing. Which means that with the right collaboration and ethos, we can drive the Care industry in the right direction. I also had the immense honour of hosting Carly Rochester from ME Passport and Margaret Dowsett from Lodge Group Care on how to grow your homecare business. Key takeaways: 1. You need to have the right culture and ethos and an Open door policy 2. You must have a growth mindset towards acquiring clients and contracts 3. Maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders - including brokerage, commissioners, clients, staff members, families of service users, social workers, legal teams, consultants and fellow business owners! 4. Recruit the right people - a strong team will mean good outcomes 5. Focus on delivering high quality care - the work will come in 6.
