As designers, understand your trade show-attending personas well enough and you’ll learn a lot in a short time about users and product market fit. Big screen Figma product demos look great and drive sales pipeline, but past the show, themes always emerge from dozens of candid conversations with real users. #agtech #design

So far today, during Figma's Config virtual event, I had the pleasure of witnessing two genuinely inspiring and informative presentations: Emily Sneddon and Taamy Amaize delivered a stunning presentation on how they “design futures so irresistible, they become inevitable.” Their showcase was a blend of creativity, inspiration, and innovation. I particularly appreciated their concluding key actions: 1. Reveal a new perception 2. Seek a parallel context 3. Embody new actions Kylor Hall’s presentation on “Adopting Foundations at Scale” was exceptionally informative and packed with strategic design system approaches and considerations. I've long admired Atlassian's Design System principles, and today’s session provided a deep dive into their strategic approach. As a UX strategist, I found it truly inspiring and valuable 😍 #config2024 #config #designsystem #designsystems #greatspeakers

Great insights! Jacob perfectly captured the importance of personalization in products, with countless hours spent using software, people desire to grow with their tech: I know I do. 🧠 When people experience a sense of ownership from using software tailored to their specific needs and interests, they are more likely to use the product frequently and develop stronger loyalty to it as well. 🧠 stronger personalization = more user retention and engagement (if that's a metric you're tracking)

🏆 This week's highlight: Presenting our product's mid-point demo with our amazing Product Manager, Kat King! We poured a lot of effort into crafting a compelling presentation in Figma. Kat expertly covered the research and conceptualization phases, while I walked through the design decisions behind the product. 📽️We recorded it to share with the whole team, our mentor, and Co.Lab 🚀 joincolab.io team. 💪Feeling energized by the positive feedback and excited for the next steps! These include usability testing and collaborating with developers to ensure a smooth implementation on schedule. 🚀 #productdesign #Colab #uxdesign #prototyping #midpointdemo #presentation #figma

As you create #components and build out your #design_system, you'll find the need for components that are similar to each other, with only slight differences. For example: you might have multiple components for buttons, with separate components for various states and sizes, as well as light and dark modes. #Variants allow you to group and organize similar components into a single container. This simplifies your component library and makes it easier for everyone to find what they need.
