Lets talk about equity... In Puerto Rico, we can't fill these positions because the cap on salary for the Goverment of Puerto Rico was $16,140 a Year. Well what are the requirements? Lets See... 1. Bachelors Degree. 2. The ability to read, write and talk in Spanish and English . 3. Must be a veteran... A veteran that can meet all those requirements is worth more than $16,140 a year. Why would work for that amount of money in an island where even the general healthcare sucks for our families? This is why representation matters. How can we tell congress that we need additional funding for the same programs that work in the states?

As children across the country prepare to head back to school this week, the focus is firmly on school building safety, with the concrete crisis rumbling on, leaving over 100 schools fully or partially shut at the start of the new academic year. Meanwhile, the Health and Safety Executive have also published a report into the safe management of asbestos in schools, featuring a number of recommendations for those responsible for managing school buildings, and a London-based school trust were recently fined £80K when a classroom ceiling collapsed, injuring 15 young pupils. The GLA have published their Planning and Regeneration Summer Newsletter. It announces that that the Mayor of London will be publishing a draft replacement London Plan for consultation towards the end of 2025.  The call for evidence remains open: planningforlondonprogramme@london.gov.uk. Submissions to date area being uploaded here: Planning for London call for evidence | GLA Engagement Portal A new London Planning Guidance (LPG) around access, equalities, and inclusion is being developed following engagement sessions held with targeted stakeholders. Broad themes covered were public buildings and spaces, inclusive neighbourhoods, transport and movement, and residential buildings. The Mayor is getting ready to launch the first live SHLAA programme. This will provide a single place for all boroughs to manage their land supply data and provide an evidence base for all future London plans and local plans.   On the 18th September the first call for sites will be launched, providing an opportunity to put forward sites for potential development.
