The message today at the session of International Energy Agency (IEA) and IDB Bank at COP28 UAE on Role of LatAm in new world energy: LatAm and Brazil especially, will continue heavily investing in grids in order to enable required RES development. Colombia plans to exploit its geographical advantages and invests in offshore wind energy with big growth ambitions (50GW was mentioned as potential capacity). Dr Fatih Birol commented abt. sustainability being in LatAm people DNA. Hopefully action follows as planned. All these plans and declarations make us at Business Finland very interested- Finnish companies have great expertise in grids flexibility and resiliency tech as well as renewables connectivity. More exploration into one of the fastest-growing and impactful industries 🚀

The 10th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) conference provided exciting updates. I am pleased to share the key highlights from this important event. With representatives from over 75 countries, the conference has sparked discussions on accelerating the global energy transition. One of the main focuses of the conference was the urgent need to triple new global renewables capacity to meet the COP28 UAE targets. Despite record new capacity installed last year, it is clear that more concrete solutions are required to address the financial and infrastructure challenges that hinder progress. At 4cast, we are committed to driving the success of renewable energy through our machine learning-based forecasting technology. By accurately predicting energy yields from wind and solar power, we are making renewables more calculable and enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions. And we are also developing new products that will help with planning of RES assets – but that's another topic for another time. The conference also highlighted the importance of collaboration and innovation in achieving sustainability goals. It addresses issues such as new electricity market designs, improved grid infrastructure, and flexible back-up systems. These discussions provide invaluable insights for industry leaders, decision-makers, and all those interested in the energy transition. As we continue our journey towards a sustainable future, 4cast remains dedicated to leveraging technology and data to advance renewable energy solutions.
