Join us for Part One of our road trip in the BYD Atto 3! https://lnkd.in/egHscVcP Not too long ago, we attended the launch event for the BYD Atto 3 in Bolton. We got a chance to get behind the wheel, and what a great first taste it was. And now, we’ve had the chance to take one on a road trip – join us for Part One! Our journey commenced under the expansive skies of the Lake District - a fitting backdrop. The electric SUV's responsiveness and agility became apparent as we navigated through winding roads and rolling hills. Its electric motor delivered power seamlessly, offering a drive that was both exhilarating and serene – a harmony between machine and nature. Long journeys test the mettle of any vehicle, and in terms of comfort, the BYD Atto 3 excelled. The cabin, a quiet sanctuary insulated from the hustle of the outside world, offered a level of comfort that turned hours on the road into moments of relaxation. Technology, too, played a pivotal role in our journey. The Atto 3's advanced infotainment system kept us connected, while its suite of safety features ensured our journey was not just enjoyable but secure. Sustainability is at the heart of the electric vehicle movement, and the BYD Atto 3 embodied this principle. Traveling from the pristine environments of the Lake District to the urban landscapes of Manchester without emitting a single particle of pollution felt like a tangible contribution to the planet's health – a testament to the potential of EVs to redefine our relationship with travel. As we concluded our journey in the shadow of Old Trafford, it was clear that the BYD Atto 3 is more than a vehicle; it's a harbinger of the future. Nice :-) While various Netherlands companies are just talking, talking & talking on how to get more & more subsidies to get some things happening on Curacao (without subsidies they don't want to continue), it is great to see others (like NuCapital, Inc. Aspiravi) taking the initiative with Aqualectra Utility - Curacao Water and Power. Congratulations! Curacao is an island that can be fully decarbonized and create a lot of additional value for the island. Why? It's almost perfect conditions with respect to renewable resources (potentially very cheap renewable energy (RE) which obviously preferably should be used as electrons on Curacao). However, Curacao has the possibility to produce more electrons than needed on the island, electrons that can be a source for green H2 (derivatives). Also the island has access to municipal waste (best to convert it in something valuable instead of dumping in landfill) and some biomass waste (from agricultural activities). This waste is a great carbon source to produce locally needed H2 derivatives In contrary to many other countries, Curacao has relatively easy offtake for H2 derivatives: - Various cruise ships stop in Curacao and cruise companies are eager to replace their fossil bunker oil with green MeOH. Similar for airliners like TUI, Corendon Airlines & KLM which also need (e-)SAF for their planes; - On the island you have many diesel-fueled cars, busses & trucks that can switch without problem to DME. Also you have farms, houses that now use propane/butane to cook. Gas in these cilinders can be replaced with green DME; - Refineria di Kòrsou needs green H2 to decarbonize refinery operations and to make their energy transition happening And (only) if more green H2 can be produced than can be consumed on the island (BA2C Zero Emission Molecules Project Development believes this is possible), the island should look at export opportunities. Not to NL (what the NL Government wants - is a requirement to provide subsidies) but to regions in the immediate area. Like Bonaire and countries in the region like Venezuela, Colombia and Panama which all need H2 or fuels derived from green H2. Imagine, the ships (also Dutch ones) that pass the Panama-canal, all of them can almost see Curacao when passing the Panama-canal. And they all need green fuels in future! It would be great in case the Refineria di Kòrsou, Curoil NV, Aqualectra Utility - Curacao Water and Power would come together (without the starting point to get subsidies) to define the best way on how to valorize RE (always best solution will be to use the electrons directly, and if this is not possible to produce molecules that can be used on the island) At BA2C Zero Emission Molecules Project Development we prepared our plans, pre-feasibility study for developing green molecules plants on Curacao (even selected our preferred location). But we need partners to continue. We think it is possible to create positive business case without subsidies. Let's talk!

🏎️🌞 aCentauri Solar Racing, an ETH Zürich Student Focus Project, participated in the iLumen European Solar Challenge - iESC 2024. 🏎️🌞 🏁🏁Competing on the renowned Circuit Zolder in Belgium, they completed 163 laps within 24 hours, recording a best lap time of 4:28 minutes and finishing 13th. While it wasn’t the result they aimed for, the team showed determination in overcoming early technical challenges, including battery issues that nearly prevented their start. 🏁🏁 The aCentauri project demonstrates how vehicles can be more environmentally friendly through lightweight construction, improved #aerodynamics, and an efficient #powertrain. The team has designed a solar-powered car capable of reaching highway speeds. The checkered flag has waved! Our first iLumen European Solar Challenge - iESC concluded with Aletsch finishing in 13th place, with the best lap time of 4:28 minutes and a total of 163 laps. While it is not the result we were hoping for, we are incredibly proud of the amazing team that worked tirelessly for 24 hours to get the best performance out of Aletsch despite the initial technical issues which were brilliantly resolved by our teams and some battery problems in the last two hours. We would like to extend our congratulations to the first-place finishers, Innoptus Solar Team, they aCed the race! Now, we are going to enjoy the final moments of this incredible experience, and then... eyes on the next race. ☀
