EU BACKS PORTUGAL'S NEW WAVE ENERGY PROJECT The Ondas de Peniche (ONDEP) project has been awarded €19 million from the EU's Horizon Europe funding program to deploy a 2 MW wave energy array in Peniche, Portugal. The project, set to begin in October 2024 and run for five and a half years, will install four WaveRoller wave energy converters connected to the grid. Led by AW-Energy Oy - "Plug into wave energy" as the main technology provider, ONDEP aims to address technical challenges for large-scale wave farms and establish a European supply chain to support GW-scale wave energy deployment. The project involves 14 partners from across Europe, coordinated by Queen's University Belfast. Ministry of POWER has disbanded the Alternative Energy Development Board & merged it with infamous PPIB, that is 100% responsible for current economic & energy woes. Not even enemies of Pakistan could have done this kind of damage to our country economy. Pakistan has been deprived since 2016 of cheap & fuel free wind and solar electricity at $¢4.0-5.0/kWh (Rs.10-12/kWh). People are forced to buy electricity at $¢12/kWh (Rs 35+25% taxes). Our industrial & commercial businessess are collapsing, rural areas faces 10-20 hours of load shedding. Those in buerecrracy & politicians responsible for this "act" should be tried under"article 5" of constitution.

The India Energy Storage Week (IESW) is well underway! The International Conference and Exhibition started today (1st July) concluding Friday 5th July in New Delhi and is organised by the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA). Edina CEO, Adam Bloom, will participate in the 'Energy Storage Tender and Projects in India' panel session on Wednesday 3rd July discussing Battery Energy Storage project challenges and considerations. Edina is an EPC contractor for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and has over 70MWh of contracted BESS projects in the UK and almost 40 years of grid interfacing expertise. We will use the opportunity to meet with commercial and industrial end-users looking to produce and consume their power and cooling on-site using MWM Gas Engines.
