#MedicalOutpatientBuilding (MOB) tenants are paying premiums in densely populated and high-demand markets. With the aging Baby Boomer population, the need for in-person healthcare is rising, making urban centers and Sunbelt states particularly attractive for MOBs. #healthcarerealestate #medicalrealestate

It has now been a month that I’ve spent mostly at home, taking care of my husband after his motorcycle accident and subsequent surgery. This time has been a physical healing period for him and a chance for me to observe and reflect on our surroundings—our home, streets, workplaces, and social systems. I’ve found myself questioning just how inclusive our environment truly is for those with mobility challenges, whether temporary or permanent, such as the elderly and disabled. This experience has led me to consider several important questions: 👉Are municipalities and developers truly considering the needs of elderly and #disabled people in urban planning? Are apartment buildings designed with wheelchair-accessible elevators, direct elevator access from parking garages, and ramps at building entrances? #urbanaccessibility 👉Do sidewalks and public spaces cater to accessibility, making it easy for people with wheelchairs or mobility devices to navigate safely and comfortably? #cityinfrastructure 👉Is there adequate access to wheelchairs or mobility aids in #residential complexes for those needing them temporarily or long-term? 👉Postsurgery care at home has presented its challenges. How accessible are home care services for the elderly or disabled? Are at-home nursing services easy to arrange? Can we streamline health service delivery, such as offering remote health evaluations to avoid unnecessary travel for those with limited mobility? These reflections underscore the urgent need to rethink how we design our urban environments and healthcare systems with #inclusivity at the forefront. It’s essential that municipalities, site managers, urban planners, and healthcare providers work together to create environments that meet the needs of everyone, regardless of age or ability. Let’s ensure that our surroundings are truly inclusive and accessible for all. #Accessibility #UrbanPlanning #Healthcare #Inclusion #MobilityChallenges #CityDesign #disabledpeople #ageing

Medical office buildings (MOBs) are not a new concept. The enactment of the Affordable Care Act over a decade ago accelerated the initial demand for these facilities. What’s propelling the demand for medical office building construction now is a prevention-focused model of healthcare, paired with driving factors like community demographics, cost of care, patient preferences, and accessibility. https://lnkd.in/eGkhrXkJ. #realestate #medical #medicalbuildings #healthcare #construction

What is the percentage of curbless/zero entry showers in senior living facilities, assisted living, and 55+ living communities? Recent research shows it is surprisingly minimal. This raises questions about the level of care provided to those assisting our elderly with bathing. In my opinion, every single shower should be curbless and ready for walker/wheelchair use. Do you agree? #SeniorCare #ElderlyCare #Accessibility #AssistedLiving #assistedliving #bathroomremodel #ada
