Hiring for ‘culture fit’ is killing your business. Here’s why: Because 'culture fit' is often code for 'people like us.' And let’s be honest... Hiring people just like you feels comfortable. But comfort doesn’t lead to innovation. In fact, it leads to: ❌ Homogeneous teams (everyone thinking the same) ❌ A lack of fresh ideas (creativity stifles) ❌ Hiring bias (the echo chamber effect) We faced this challenge firsthand. Our teams were stagnant, and creativity was low. But then, we shifted our approach. We stopped hiring for culture fit. And started hiring based on values. Which meant: ✅ Drive over degrees ✅ Passion over pedigree ✅ Coachability over comfort And that’s when we saw REAL growth. So if you’re hiring for 'culture fit'... Maybe it’s time to switch focus to ‘culture add’.
