On May 16, team members from across the resort came together to Hike for Garbage. By banding together and scouring everything from the base area parking lots to the summit of North Peak, we removed and sorted over 1,600 gallons of recyclable waste and over 1,900 gallons of landfill waste. Small efforts make a big difference, and this was the largest resort-wide group clean-up effort, resulting in an estimated 3,500 gallons of waste being removed. The White Mountain National Forest is our playground, and we all must do our part to keep it clean.

Proper waste disposal is essential for maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. When we discard garbage irresponsibly, it pollutes our surroundings, harms wildlife, and can even contaminate water sources. It's vital to use designated bins for different types of waste, recycle whenever possible, and avoid littering in public spaces, parks, and natural habitats. By being mindful of our actions and taking responsibility for our waste, we contribute to a healthier planet for ourselves and future generations. Let's all do our part to keep our communities clean and preserve the beauty of our natural environment. 🌏

In a changing and drying climate, improving how we reclaim and reuse the by-products of our water use is important for future water security. We haven't just named our wastewater plants Water Reclamation Plants, we've committed to embedding sustainable practices in every part of our business. At the Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant, the production of recycled water and biosolids helps us contribute to a circular economy and deliver benefits to our customers, communities and the environment. This Earth Day, and every day, we know a commitment to the environment doesn’t just stop at using less water! We’re saying ‘No’ to wastewater, and ‘Yes’ to innovative ways to deliver recycled water across our region - giving the water we use a second life.

Going Green 🔋🚛 Emterra Environmental, a leading Canadian waste management company, is rolling out eight shiny new Mack LR Electric refuse trucks in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. These eco-friendly vehicles will be hitting the streets of Courtenay and Comox starting in August, marking Emterra’s first fully electric local fleet. 🌿\ This move is part of Emterra Environmental’s bigger plan to electrify its fleet, building on a successful pilot program they ran in Ontario last year. 🚀 Emterra is putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to environmental sustainability and climate action. 🌎 The arrival of these quieter, zero-emission trucks in the Comox Valley isn’t just about hitting environmental targets—it’s also about modernizing our neighbourhoods. By cutting down on noise pollution and improving air quality, these electric trucks are set to boost the quality of life for residents, which could even have a positive impact on property values. 🏡✨

Humans are on track to produce 3.8 billion tonnes of waste per year by 2050 (Global Waste Management Outlook 2024). Inaction and inadequate waste collection, recovery, and disposal will have serious implications on human health, the planet’s health, and the global economy. It’s a global problem, but one that will be solved on a local level. CLOCC is on a mission to demonstrate how engaging with local communities and stakeholders can lead to transformative change that can be replicated on a wider scale. We do this through an inclusive approach focussed on sustainable waste management, responsible use of resources, and focusing on the needs of local societies. It is a fact – beach clean-ups matter! A Norwegian research study in 2021, confirms beach clean-ups dramatically reduce microplastics released into the environment. So, collect rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway, or anywhere, and you have made a difference to the environment! We document everything we collect from location to location, and this helps us to identify hot spots. Exciting news!!! 🔈🔈🔈 📌📌📌 What if we offer you a system to record the trash collected and locations to drop off your trash collected? Would you be interested in being part of the clean-up effort? We aim to have zero waste ending up at the landfill. #landfill #mycleanbeach #beachcleanups

Every small change in your waste management strategy can have a big impact. By reducing landfill waste, you’re not only cutting costs but also helping to preserve the natural habitats of local wildlife. Let’s work together to create a more sustainable operation that benefits both your bottom line and the environment. https://lnkd.in/dy_XvY48

We are 4ocean, and we're fighting against a heartbreaking reality. Every minute, a truckload of plastic enters our oceans. By 2050, there could be more plastic than fish in the sea. 🌊 Marine life is suffering, habitats are being destroyed, and our beautiful oceans are turning into plastic wastelands. We’re committed to making a change. Each bracelet purchased funds the removal of plastic and trash from our oceans, rivers, and coastlines. We can't do it alone. Let's turn waste into treasure! Our environmental innovation that turns waste into valuable resources. This microwave vapor plasma process does not produce NOx, CO, CO2, SO2 gases, plus the emission is odorless
Converting plastic and tire waste into energy carriers in an environmentally friendly way (e.g. heating oil, diesel, grill coke, synthesis gas) What should we do with more and more garbage? The conversion of waste into an energy carrier has become relevant because the production of electricity from waste is slowly being replaced by solar and wind energy, because their operating costs are almost zero, the amortization of the equipment Waste-to-energy plant a great alternative to reduce the area for waste treatment and disposal, in addition to generating energy for all small cities in the region. A good alternative is to create an intermunicipal cooperative between small cities to share costs It is a social advantage if small villages are supplied with locally produced energy, thus creating local jobs for the local energy-using population from waste collected locally, small equipment for micro power plants can also be manufactured locally To date, I have been approached several times, but they expected 100% funding from me without investing their money. For example, in oil-rich countries like UAE or Nigeria, the government has to fund projects if they don't want their country to be covered in waste. Our innovation in environmental protection is the use of microwave technology The main advantage of microwave steam plasma reactors is that there is no nitrogen in the microwave steam plasma, so there is no nitrogen oxides, no sulfur dioxid minimum carbon dioxid and odorless emissions The hydrogen introduced into the reaction space with the microwave steam plasma slows down the reactions of gaseous sulphur, phosphorus and free chlorine formation to remove in the gas purification unit. When reacting with chlorine-containing substances, microwave steam plasma does not produce dioxin, which is one of the most toxic substances. more: www.gumienergia.hu
