Garden in Estepona in bloom! LOOSvanVLIET designed a private garden which was realized 2 years ago and is now in full bloom. One of the desires of the residents was to be able to take a stroll through the garden. This walk has been made as diverse as possible, by creating different sub-areas with different ambience and flower colors. The original wall around the swimming pool and the terrace has been removed to enhance the connection to the rest of the garden.  At the front of the house a straight path runs towards the front door. That line continues into the backyard, in which there’s also a straight path above which there’s an existing pergola. The house, the functional paths, the terraces and the pool follow an orthogonal structure, while the rest of the garden with the remaining paths is more organic in form. A beautiful wisteria blooms over the existing pergola. A terrace area with ceramic tiles and canopy by the pool now provide a pleasant alternation between sun and shade. In addition to this covered terrace, one side of the pool is semi-paved with plant beds, the other side of the pool is directly adjacent to the garden. In the semi-paved part rainwater can sink in..  Different atmospheres and colors are created for each sub-area. First there is a tropical atmosphere with palms, red flowering trees such as Delonix and Spatodea and planting with red and orange flowers; this part of the garden is for the real devotees, as there are lots of different plants. The next part is a section with succulents and a section with herbs and vegetables. In the shadowy part of the garden there are leaf plants such as the Manihot, Fatsia, Dicksonia and Alocasia. Alongside the house there’s a white garden. The front garden is designed as a Mediterranean section with plantings in shades of grey and blue, combined with swaying grasses and cacti. Larger groups have been planted in the front of the garden, simplifying the planting in the front yard. There are several grasses, beautiful yucca, Gaura and Calangoe. The garden is a true oasis for the residents as well as for butterflies, birds and bees.
