Impactful insights of Robin Hauser in her TED Talk as she delves into the inherent challenges women face in leadership roles due to societal biases and gendered expectations. This compelling presentation unveils the crucial intersection between competence and likability that many women navigate, highlighting the need for a cultural shift in our understanding of leadership and femininity. How we can collectively redefine leadership and disrupt the stereotypes that hold women back? #womeninleadership
I did my thesis on Leadership. So much of what is out there is trying to train or make it acceptable for women leaders to be and act like men leaders. But it's exactly those actions that have created the world as it is. Which would be fine if the world was ideal.... but how many grey cubicles do you have to look at to know that's not true? In my opinion, women leaders are better when they lead like women, not men. When they are authentic and true to themselves, that will come across. From what I discovered, feminine leadership styles have been shown to be highly effective. A reason we respond poorly to women leaders mimicking male leaders style is because it feels disingenuous. Both to them and to us.
Lorena Acosta Love this and ask myself "what do women desire and deserve for a future of value creation as women! This is real authentic common sense - nurture the sensitive and the strong in ways that elevate our competency and credibility for women AS WOMEN ! Yeah, I like to redefine leadership - and also reframe the landscape we now share with men. One of my own favorite keynotes is "'Tough v Tender' Who's in Charge of Business Now?" I love to share this with corporate men AND women. Its time for women to be in harmony with each other on mutually owned territory with men where the culture is unbiased and inclusive of productive energy! #ThePowerOfAuthenticHarmony Thanks for posting ....
I'll be candid. I am a dad of two young ladies in uni, and we've tried to raise them to be themselves. To make their own opinions known, if they think it necessary. To use diplomacy, but firmness, as appropriate. To choose for themselves. To set their own objectives. To cooperate, but be ready to lead, if they so choose. What you can do certainly has little to do with your gender. And, as their dad, I am a man, and as staunch supporter of their abilities as you could ever find. I don't have the context for the US social situation, but I simply don't agree that's a global (evem Western) state of affairs. As probably many, I have had good bosses, and bad ones. Some of those have made a huge impression, some for good, some for bad. But it has had nothing to do with gender.
Penalize it’s a small word to crippled” black woman sees no justice no recognition if she leave it to her enemies hands” you can buy lies” how would it feel to receive the monstrous evil that you placed on me? Can you still hold your head up”
I’m always focused on my mind set and blocking out the noise of what people say I can’t do or shouldn’t do. Having coaches like you have helped me break that glass ceiling Lorena Acosta
