One of these things is not like the other. I just got my paper certificate. It is smaller than the previous 7 others that ATD sent since March 2006. It came quickly but not sure why it is so small. I just got the frame for the last recertification period. This new one does not fit in the frame (I suppose I can get it re-matted but I won't). Also, I recertified by taking the test rather than entering all of my education, etc. in the portal. Does that make a difference? #ADTCPTD #pilotpioneer

Lori, it is indeed smaller. Blame the post office! In 2023, USPS changed its postal rates and our wonderful, oversized certificates in their cardboard envelopes were now considered “packages.” Our postage cost increased by over 277%. Additionally, we were getting an increasing number of complaints about non-receipt of the envelope both domestically and abroad. After consulting our local post master, we learned the oversized envelope was likely the culprit. We reluctantly reduced the size rather than getting rid of the #aptd and #cptd certificates altogether. We have lowered our non-delivery issues to nearly non-existent. We shared this change with everyone in early 2023. Our certificants use a wide range of means to recertify and show they continue to stay on top of trends and changes in the field. This is one major advantage of a #certification. No matter whether they recertify by re-exam, all continuing education credits, or a mix of activities, we love all our certificants just the same!

Just curious, why would you frame these certificates? What is the value of displaying these?

Ooof. What started as a grand experiment has really devolved into typical corner-cutting and cost-chasing.
