Yesterday I got to launch my new business. But today, I get to announce something even more fun: This month I’m hiring my next new team member 🎉 And here’s my hiring strategy in a fast-growing start-up ⤵️ I want to work with people who are: → Fun and excited to be a part of a growing team. → Ready to solve problems and build skills. → Focused on taking action daily. → Looking to learn every day. → Self-motivated. A few things I DON’T look for in new team members: - A university degree. - Number of A*-C GCSEs - A fancy family last name. - Your ability to build a pivot table. Large corporations may want 68 years experience, 2 degrees, 6 foreign languages, one tour overseas and a Grammy nomination. But I don’t, and most start-up founders don’t either ❌ It doesn’t matter where you’re from or where you’ve been, you have the opportunity to impress. - Impress with your application. - Impress with how much you want the job. - Impress with the lengths you go for the interview. In 2010, I joined full time at Redefine and today after fifteen years we are over 100 plus strong team. One of the core responsibilities as a founder is to build team apart from business development.
