Shoulder Injuries. Did you know❓ (A follow up to my last post on shoulder injuries based on some question I have received) ⚠️Overhead work fatigues muscles in the shoulder more quickly than non-overhead work. ⚠️Working in awkward shoulder postures and sustained overhead can lead to the development of musculoskeletal disorders such as rotator cuff injuries, tendinitis and shoulder impingement. ⚠️Workers may notice things like muscle fatigue and shoulder discomfort while working overhead or moving their arm through various postures. ✅We should make an effort to find controls that could remove the overhead component completely or reduce the frequency and/or duration of the overhead work tasks. Increased exposure to overhead work is linked to increased severity of shoulder and neck injury and can include: ⛔️Decreased work performance ⛔️Decreases in strength ⛔️Time off work ⛔️Delayed #rtw ⛔️Inability to work for long periods #injuryprevention #shoulderinjury #safety #workhealth

Despite the fact that people, especially women, are told to "just do Kegels" for all pelvic floor disorders (especially urinary urgency/frequency), Kegel exercises are not appropriate for all people! When Kegels don't work, it's time to call a pelvic floor physical therapist. . . . . . . #FlexPlus #PhysicalTherapy #PT #Pain #PainFree #LowCost #HighQuality #Natick #MetroWest #fyzical #pfpt #pelvicfloor #womenshealth #pelvicfloortherapy #pelvictherapy #kegels #strengthening #overactivebladder #oab #frequency #urgency #painfulintercourse

POTS Patient Shaves off her hair! This is a very tough situation, and my heart goes out that she has dealt with this condition for so long. It also makes me consider when simple things like washing your hair become such a big deal, it might be time to take a step back and rethink how to tackle the problem. Sure, just getting through each day is important, but living like this doesn't have to be the only option. Even though some support groups might say otherwise, there are often better ways to handle these challenges. It's great that there's someone around to help out, like with shaving their head. Hopefully, that support system can also help find some new approaches to make life easier. 👎𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 | In a courtroom drama enacted for the screen, a plaintiff in a very visible foam neck collar is seeking a fortune for “whiplash." But science calls "Cut! The collar’s an epic fail: it might stiffen more than just the plot. All eyes are on the poor plaintiff, who is sitting in a rigid posture wearing a foam neck collar that she keeps repeatedly fiddling with to hold focus on it. Her lawyer is demanding enough compensation to keep several families comfortable for generations. The lawyer claims that after the "whiplash," his client is now unable to do anything productive except sit on a sofa and watch TV shows. And then, there are hordes of people walking around with these patently uncomfortable devices for "spondyltis" of the neck vertebra. 𝗕𝗨𝗧... Evidence shows the ineffectiveness, even harm, from these collars. 𝗡𝗘𝗪 - Current recommendations have shifted towards active recovery methods without these confining collars. 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘... Except in emergency services where the neck has to be stabilised before spine injury is ruled out, these devices are of no value. 🇪🇳🇩🇶🇺🇴🇹🇪 “𝘈𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘸 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘴, 𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘶𝘮𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘺𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯 𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘨.” -- 𝖤𝗇𝗀𝖻𝖾𝗋𝗀 𝖣, 𝖳𝗁𝖾 𝖠𝗍𝗅𝖺𝗇𝗍𝗂𝖼 || 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲?
