How should you form the agenda for your next (and every) volunteer leadership meeting? 1. Give them something to meaningfully discuss 2. Give them somethign new to learn 3. Include something that requires their approval 4. I feel like this type of bespoke, individualised and practical approach to leadership education is long overdue. And I applaud all proactive action which raises the profile of fundraising as a profession. I realise I’m getting ahead of myself but I’ll say it anyway… I’m looking forward to the next iteration which I hope is a Fundraising Leadership course like this one except designed to enable non-fundraisers to segue into the sector. I’ve seen far too many highly successful, financial, marketing or business leaders take up leadership positions in NFPs without understanding the nuances required for a successful fundraising program.

This will be my first time attending Elevate conference organized by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. Excited to be attending virtually together with other nonprofit leaders and professionals, to listen and learn from a lineup of remarkable speakers. Thank you to the NH Center for Nonprofits for putting on a great NH Nonprofit Leadership Summit last week. With over 250 nonprofit leaders in the room there were many insightful conversations about we can do within the industry to continue to improve the nonprofit sector and get the word out about the amazing work these organizations do! One moment I found powerful at the conference was when a speaker said "Collaboration moves at the speed of trust."
