🤯 Reflecting on the incredible first-ever in-person Vendure Developer Day in Vienna last Saturday, I'm still awestruck by the commitment and passion that filled the room. It was a remarkable gathering, with dedicated individuals traveling from the US and various EU countries. This embodies the true spirit of open source – a community driven by shared passion and purpose. In my talk about Vendure's future, I could feel the room's energy but also some type of uncertainty. The changes ahead are substantial, but the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. It was evident in everyone's eyes – we're united in this journey, ready to shape the future of e-commerce together. Having a clear vision and defined goals is vital. It provides a sense of safety and direction, ensuring we're all moving forward cohesively. This alignment is crucial as we continue to innovate and expand. The connection and camaraderie among everyone at the event were palpable. I left feeling deeply inspired and even more motivated to collaborate with this incredible community. We're not just building a platform; we're crafting the future of e-commerce, together. A special shoutout to my co-founder, Michael. His contributions in the last years are the rock-solid foundation we can build our future success on. StagingPro has been able to grow it's client base by over 200% in the last 12 months📈 Over the next few weeks/months I will start to release screen shots and small video's of StagingPro showing BigCommerce merchants how easy it is to mange all of their production and staging environments in one place and push changes through a development cycle. This past month, I closed my chapter at Fivetran after nearly 4 years. Over these years, I've supported Fivetran growing more than 6x, from ~250 employees to 1,200 employees and $30M ARR to over >$200M ARR, first building and leading the Solution Architecture team and then in the COO’s office developing strategy. I'm so grateful to have been part of so many beginnings: Starting the Solution Architecture team from the ground up, launching Fivetran's first Services offerings, kicking off our first consumption-based comp plans, and informing some of the most critical Company, Product & GTM strategy decisions over three annual planning cycles, e.g. the launch of Self Service. Along the way, I made lifelong friends, visited places I’d never been, and welcomed my first child into the world. There are too many people to thank who helped me along the way, but I will give it my best shot. Taylor Brown, your contagious energy and ambitions for Fivetran inspired me from Day 1. Thank you for pulling me into this company and giving me the opportunity of a lifetime. Travis Ferber, your work ethic, smarts, commitment to doing the right thing was a treat to be around. Your fervor for new problems seems to turn challenges into opportunities, and I’ll take that with me. Thank you for moving me into Strategy and relying on me for some of the most critical decisions we faced. Troy Abraham & Kevin Hodgkins, leadership was intuitive to you in a way I’d never seen before, thank you for teaching me about leadership and trusting me to build a critical new team from scratch. My teams, past and present, how did I get so lucky to have found you? Collaborating with you on a daily basis was filled with laughs and being in the trenches with you is something I’ll never forget.
