In collaboration with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the U.S. Embassy, we recently organized the third in a series of seminars focused on assisting Croatian companies entering the U.S. market. This seminar delved into critical topics like intellectual property protection, investor engagement, and the nuances of employment and cultural differences in the U.S. 🔍 Key Highlights: ▪️ Intellectual Property: The seminar emphasized the importance of understanding IP rights and regulations, highlighting the differences between European and U.S. frameworks. This is especially crucial for IT companies looking to protect their software innovations. ▪️ Investor Relations: Tarja Krehić shared invaluable strategies for crafting compelling business plans and building long-term relationships with potential investors, essential for navigating the competitive landscape in the U.S. ▪️ Employment and Talent Management: Iva Rukelj and Irena Bajan Varat offered insights into the legal and cultural challenges of hiring in the U.S., along with best practices for attracting and retaining top talent. This event provided an excellent platform for learning and networking, equipping attendees with the knowledge needed to tackle the challenges of the U.S. market. Yesterday, April 15, JBAS - Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia members attended the conference "One Region, One Market; A step towards the EU common market" organized by the Center for Regional Economic Research and Analysis in Novi Sad. The conference was attended by Ministers of the Government of Serbia, Mr. Tomislav Momirović, Ms. Darija Kisić and Mr. Slobodan Cvetkovicć, Mr. Nenad Ivanišević, the provincial secretary for economy and tourism, Mr. Dragoslav Šćekić, the Vice President of the Government of Montenegro, Mr. Staša Košarac, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as distinguished representatives of the business community. On behalf of the organizers, State Secretary Mr. Aleksandar Simurdić pointed out that plans for potential cooperation in the area of the Western Balkans will be further discussed, taking a step closer towards the common market of the European Union. This day marks a pivotal starting point in the nation’s history, but it’s also a moment to pause, question, and grow. 💡 The origins of Australia Day date back to 1788 when the so-called "First Fleet" (led by Captain Arthur Phillip) arrived in Australia. This arrival makeed the birth of the first British colony on the red continent. 👣 For some, this date symbolizes new beginnings, resilience, and the shared achievements of a modern multicultural nation. For others, especially Indigenous Australians, it is a day of mourning, marking the invasion of their ancestral lands and the beginning of profound disruptions to their way of life. ↔️ Despite the controversy, this duality of Australia Day mirrors the the country's ability to persevere, reinvent itself, while striving to protect old traditions: This makes transformation, adaptability, and renewal an integral part of Australian's identity. 🇻🇳 As we enter the Year of the Snake in Vietnam, there is a poetic parallel to Australia’s journey—a call for introspection, renewal, and perhaps a reshaping of narratives.
