Glad I didn’t miss out on this! Planning, Designing & Developing Sustainable Healthcare Facilities in Asia. I was privileged to attend Asia Healthcare Week 2024 and be amongst healthcare leaders to understand their challenges. As the event featured speakers in both the public and private sector from across the region, it truly delivered thought provoking insights which help me to understand the market we operate in. Everything in the Palm of Your Hand! Without a doubt the game changer for organisations large and small has been the transformative nature of the mobile phone in shaping patient engagement. This has created an abundance of easy to digest data highlighting inefficiencies in the system. The mobile phone has created a feedback culture which drives quality scores ever higher. The mobile phone has also released a host of apps that improve visibility and allow patients to plan and pay for their treatment. This eliminates the need to hang around a registration or payment counter, the waiting room or indeed the pharmacy as medications can be delivered directly to your door. With mobile technologies becoming ubiquitous, the technology focus will continue to move upstream. We already see this in the move to leverage on technology to deliver community based healthcare. We see this in the development of robotics and other high-cost models that are only justified through the advancement of patient care; i.e. there is no plausible financial gain that gives the green light to the investment. So what of the Buildings? Our interest in all this resides in the fabric of buildings; How shall we design buildings and spaces for the future? What technologies are we planning for? How are these buildings to be used to deliver future models of care? Riding across the landscape are the questions of affordability, ecology and sustainability. Big challenges remain such as reducing inefficiencies and cost.  Then there’s the part we enjoy the most; creating better, inspirational places to work and to heal. Doug Ford Ontario families are suffering from so many health uses and tired of wait time in energency. Its of no use on Doctors day to just post something about ontarion’s health. Your province is in worst for health issues. All other provinces has programs like Clinical associates(CA’s) where Regulatory bodies of those provinces are hiring our IMG’s who passed LMCC and back home experience to serve in hospitals in emergency departments/ acute care and primary care. These IMG’s are working day and night to support canadian doctors. In your province only these IMG’s are totally ignored and never get a chance to be added as part of health system. This is your failure or may be you dont have insight for this as you care about buildings and roads. Either you dont understand the critical situation of health system or deliberately trying to be ignorant about condition of your province for shortage of doctors. I haven’t seen anytime in any of your events talking about improvement plans in health system. Ontario started PRO program but so many barriers on the eligibility criteria for IMG’s. Other provinces has not tgat tough criteria for their Programs like PRA and in better pisition. Ontario is not IMG friendly and will loose Doctors if there won’t be change in pilicies for IMG’s. Population in Ontario is increasing day by day and many Family physicians are retiring in 2025-2026, people will be in struggle to get Family doctor. If you really want to improve health system, relax your policies for IMG’s and open programs like other Provinces. There is a red flag for 2025 -2026 for big shortage of doctors and nearly 6 million people without family doctors

For over 1.5 years, in partnership with KSM, Baker Donelson and Bose, I have had the honor to support National, state, regional and local MS Delta hospitals and health systems leadership to assess ways to improve the health systems and health status of the people in the Mississippi Delta. - The infant mortality for Black children in the MS Delta is 2x Mississippi White children and 3x the national average. - The maternal mortality in the MS Delta is 2x the national average. - The rate of Diabetes in the core MS Delta Counties is 3x the national average. - The lower extremity amputation rate is the highest in the nation and over 4x the national average. Although the need for improvement is compelling, the political and race relations are complicated. This is an opportunity to come together to improve the health status of all Mississippians by supporting the Delta. https://lnkd.in/gxiSeXjV
