All I see in all your post is an attempt to make the case that Africa is not good for investment in pharma production If that seems the case, I apologize. But let me be clear: there is room for investment in the development of pharmaceuticals in Africa. Increasing healthcare demands, a growing middle class, a growing population, and improved infrastructure in some areas are some of the elements that can draw pharmaceutical companies to Africa. #investinAfrica medicines for Africa (mfa)

Tunisia is the smallest nation in North Africa, bordered to the west by Algeria, to the southeast by Libya, and the north and east by the Mediterranean Sea. Tunisia is one of the few countries in Africa with sophisticated management and advanced technologies pharmaceutical sector, both in terms of product quality and safety. The generic drug local production is approximately 49% and importations are around 51%. Major countries of Tunisia are Tunis (Capital), Sfax, Sousse, Ettadhamen, Kairouan, Gabès. The framework and fundamental structures for inclusive economic growth in Africa need joint and coordinated effort across countries

Africa's pharmaceutical sector will only improve through joint effort. When it comes to pharma, it is clear that the continent is playing catch-up in comparison to its counterparts in Europe and Asia. And here's why, ✅ Of all the pharmaceutical manufacturing worldwide, barely 3 percent comes from Africa. ✅ Only 20 African states are capable of manufacturing pharmaceuticals, with eight of those countries producing around 80% of the continent's total. ✅ African nations produce less than 1% of the continent's vaccine needs. That being said, There are several organizations, through many men and women, that are working day and night to change this scenario. The following are some of these organizations and initiatives; 1️⃣ African Pharmaceutical Technology Foundation: works through partnerships to enhance Africa’s access to the technologies needed to discover, develop and manufacture medicines, vaccines and diagnostics. 2️⃣ African Medicines Agency: provides leadership in creating an enabling regulatory environment for Pharmaceutical Sector Development in Africa. 3️⃣ African Continental Free Trade Area: aim is to enhance trade within the African continent specifically in value added production including that of health products and technologies.
