14 years ago was my last live performance🎸 I was used to having band mates around me. I felt vulnerable. What if they think I’m rubbish? I wasn’t perfect. But I had friends in the audience and the place was packed to the rafters. It was only a friendly village pub, not Wembley stadium like I used to dream about when I was a long haired rocker in rock bands. I should have recorded the whole gig, as there we’re really loud cheers and applause I didn’t capture. This was a massive ego boost. Why didn’t you keep on performing? I hear you say. I still didn’t fully believe in myself as a performer. I’m now 55 and those days are way behind me. Now my audience is on line here on LinkedIn. Same fears. Feeling vulnerable. Worried that people will disregard me and loose interest. But I am starting to find my tribe on here and I’m grateful. More engagement would be great, but that’s something I need to work on.
