David Lynch - You Get what you Get Working with the Master is an experience not to forget 👇 For those in the know, a PPM is all about preparation - reviewing the story, finalising the casting, locking in the location… everything meticulously discussed and aligned with the client well in advance. It’s a process steeped in clarity and precision. And then, there’s David Lynch. Lynch operates on an entirely different frequency. As the meeting begins, he sits quietly, nodding occasionally and murmuring, “I see, I see…” Meanwhile, his assistant, without a word, extracts a painting from a large bag - yes, a painting. (Did you know David Lynch is also a painter? Neither did I at that time.) What can I say? I wasn’t exactly enamoured with the piece. It was dark, brooding, saturated in shades of blue. And then Lynch drops the hammer: 'The commercial will be exactly like that. Clear for everybody I assume'. Silence. His assistant briskly announces that everything is clear, wrapping the meeting with a cool finality, and informs us that Lynch will soon be leaving to visit friends in Paris. The client looks dumbfounded; the agency team is visibly on edge. No one dares to protest. But of course, before the Master exits, there’s one last flurry of activity - no one forgets to secure an autograph. After all, whatever else happened in that room, this was a moment no one would forget. I can’t even explain what happened in the room after, the client got so furious that the agency thought it was the last campaign with Nissan. But let’s be true here. If you choose David Lynch, you definitely know what to expect…or what not to expect. You have to let uncertainty enter the process. This is part of the deal. When you are a brand, as big as it might be, you may risk a little to work with the greatest - we miss you already M. David Lynch. Not sure the campaign was great (see for yourself https://lnkd.in/eRWSQf8s) but the PR was huge and the car had its success. At least, it was worth it for the memories. Since 1913, the Olympic rings have symbolised unity and global connection. The five interlocking rings, designed by Pierre de Coubertin, represent the world's continents coming together in friendly competition. Each colour was chosen because at least one appears in every national flag, making the logo a true symbol of inclusivity and diversity. Both logos represent unity through the use of interlocking rings.

Do you remember the 1967 Austin Mini Cooper S 1275 in ‘The Italian Job?’ The Minis featured in the 2003 remake are undeniably beautiful, but they pale in comparison to the iconic models from the original '69 film. The British Motor Corporation, responsible for manufacturing the car, exhibited a lack of cooperation by declining to donate any vehicles for the movie. Instead, they agreed to sell six Minis to the production team at a trade price, which eventually led to the purchase of an additional 30 Minis at retail cost. Despite this uncooperative stance, the dedicated screenwriter, Troy Kennedy Martin, stood firm and refused to replace the Minis with other cars for one of the most famous chase scenes in cinematic history. Conversely, the head of Fiat, Gianni Agnelli, enthusiastically embraced the film and offered to provide all the cars required. He was keen to contribute Fiat 500s as potential substitutes for the Minis and generously assisted in the production process. Agnelli allowed the crew to film and practice on the company's private premises and even furnished three Ferrari Dinos for the Mafia characters to drive. Surprisingly, despite being a film predominantly centered around cars and driving, Michael Caine, the lead actor, faced a curious obstacle. At the time of filming, Caine did not possess a driver's license and is never seen behind the wheel throughout the movie. If you are a very patient fan of the Austin Mini Cooper, you may be able to find one at auction. They are very scarce. If you are willing to settle for one of the new Mini Coopers, they are quite available in new and used models in the U.S. If you decide to buy one in Austin, TX or The Land, FL, there is a better way of handling the exportation depending on the vehicle location and port of export.
