This Week in Roofing History: The Evolution of Fiberglass Roofing by Owens Corning! This week, we’re spotlighting a significant development in the history of roofing materials by Owens Corning, a company renowned for its innovations in building materials. While Owens Corning is widely known for its Fiberglass Reinforced Built-up Roofing Systems, which gained a large market share in the 1970s, the innovation journey in fiberglass roofing began much earlier. 1954 marked a pivotal moment for Owens Corning with the experimental installation of #11 Machine in Newark NJ, which was equipped with RF (Rotary Fiber) fiberizers based on Saint Gobain’s SUPER-TEL design. This machine became the first Owens Corning equipment to produce centrifugally spun fiberglass wool, laying the groundwork for future advancements in fiberglass technology. Building on this innovative spirit, 1955 saw the introduction of OWENS CORNING PERMA-PLY, a revolutionary roofing material explicitly designed for Built-Up Roof (BUR) insulation covering. This product offered a new level of durability and insulation, providing a more reliable solution for commercial and industrial roofing needs. #RoofingHistory #OwensCorning #FiberglasRoofing #Innovation #BuiltUpRoofing #ConstructionMilestones #HistoryOfRoofing

#UltraLowEnergy92Series A new high-tech composite profile is formed by extrusion and welding at high temperature by using multi-cavity aluminum alloy as lining and a layer of high molecular composite microfoamed polyvinyl chloride material (referred to as microfoamed PVC) at the same time. Its outdoor surface composite aluminum alloy profile, to solve the problem of plastic in outdoor use of weather resistance, the use of enhanced glass fiber nylon 66 in the middle to block the indoor and outdoor cold and heat conduction, combined with the indoor broken bridge lining aluminum-plastic co-extruded profiles to form a double broken bridge structure, absorb the advantages of aluminum-plastic co-extruded and aluminum alloy, composite plus modular design concept, in the energy saving design is perfect, cost saving At the same time, make the best use of everything; The micro-foaming technology adopted by the product makes its thermal insulation and sound insulation performance reach a new height. The aluminum-plastic co-extruded profile not only has the thermal insulation performance of the plastic window, but also has the strength of the aluminum alloy profile and the decorative effect of the wooden window, which is the perfect combination of aluminum window, plastic window and wooden window.
