⚡ News Alert: Wattstor and ENERGE are proud to announce the launch of a pioneering battery energy storage system into the Slovakian ancillary services market. ⚡ Slovakia's grid just got a boost of stability and innovation thanks to our state-of-the-art 1.5 MW / 1.6 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), combined with ENERGE's data terninal. 🔋The Wattstor system was commissioned specifically for deployment into the Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR) ancillary service, a market designed to support grid stability and decarbonisation goals. Only certified energy assets can enter the FCR, and the application process for this can often be time-consuming and technical. The combination of ENERGE’s digital platform, Wattstor’s energy management system and technical expertise led to full certification and asset deployment within a matter of weeks. #EnergyVault is at the forefront of revolutionizing the energy storage sector, as highlighted in a recent Utility Dive article. Investments in long-duration #energystorage have surged, exceeding $58 billion since 2019. These investments reflect the increased demand for sustainable and efficient energy solutions. At Energy Vault, we're addressing this need with groundbreaking projects. In May, the California Public Utilities Commission gave the green light to Pacific Gas and Electric Company & Electric to move forward with an 8.5 MW microgrid. This project, featuring a hybrid battery and hydrogen fuel cell system developed by us, is set to significantly enhance energy resilience in areas prone to #wildfire-related outages. The system is expected to generate up to 293 MWh over a 48-hour period. CEC (California Energy Commission) recently released a new dashboard tracking residential, C&I, and utility-scale energy storage installations which may be helpful to look at what's going on in the Sunshine State! - 6.6GW of energy storage capacity have now come online as of October 2023 - Tracking another 1.9GW of storage expected now hitting 8.5GW by EOY. - Growth of an outstanding 757% over the last 4 years from just 0.7GW to 6.6GW today This is very much a crucial initiative for the State as we race towards 100% renewable by 2045 and the State is projecting the need of additional 52GW capacity. That's about 5 Billion cellphones worth of batteries to put in scale. We have some work cut out for us, but an achievable goal for sure. https://lnkd.in/g-y2n2wr
