In assessment for UNESCO, council recommends against Estonia Theater annex In a recent assessment for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) regarding a planned annex to the Estonia Theater in Tallinn, the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) recommended building an opera house elsewhere, not as an extension to the current building. In its technical review, the Estonian representative to UNESCO Priit Pallum, ICOMOS noted that the planned extension would overshadow the historic Estonia Theater building without any architectural integration, and recommended considering building a new theater elsewhere in Tallinn, in order to realize its architectural potential while at the same time satisfying its operational needs. ICOMOS stressed that if an extension to the historical theater building does remain under consideration, then the scope of the intrusion into the existing building should be defined in the course of a broader debate in order to preserve cultural heritage values, including the physical structure as well as the local context. https://lnkd.in/ddWEyekB #UNESCO #EstoniaTheater #CulturalHeritage #Recommendation #UNESCOassessment

The great Roman theatre, the symbol of Verona, dates back to the first half of the 1st Century AD. It was once one of the most important open air opera theatres in the Roman Empire. Restoration work involved the construction of new covering for the central orchestra pit, an underground room and the underground sewage tunnels. The new covering slab is structurally supported by a system of roof struts and post-tension tie rods. These minimise strains and deformation from loads placed on top. 📽️ Volume 2 of Our Rialto Square Theatre Terrazzo Restoration Project is Now Live! 🏛️✨ We're excited to share the progress in Volume 2 of our Rialto Square Theatre Terrazzo Restoration series! In this episode, we take you through the next critical phase of the restoration process. After completing the initial grinding of the historic terrazzo floors, we focused on filling in all the pinholes and small imperfections using a specially mixed resin. This step is vital for ensuring a smooth, even surface before moving on to the honing and polishing stages. Once the pinholes were filled, we removed the excess resin and began honing the terrazzo floor—taking it step-by-step from 200 grit to 3500 grit to refine and smooth the surface, preparing it for the final high-gloss polish. The honing process was incredibly satisfying, as each pass brought out more of the natural beauty of the terrazzo, gradually transforming these historic floors. In this series, we're not just showing you a transformation—we’re sharing the craftsmanship, dedication, and detail that goes into restoring a landmark like the Rialto Square Theatre. The Maltese government entrusted IPOINT INT with the creation of a series of #promotionalvideos. The aim was to #raiseawareness and promote the Maltese culture for the European Commission of Culture - Valletta. We took the creative direction to feature some of Malta’s astonishing landmarks with custom-created characters and sceneries. The video was set in a funky, modern art style, along with voice-over messages.
