CE Certification & Homologation 🚩 🎯 https://lnkd.in/dBQifEBB Welcome to the Boat CE Certification and Homologation course. ✨ The course focuses on boat/yacht certification and covers the European Recreational Craft Directive (RCD). The course is divided into five parts: 🔶 In the first part, we will start to discover the European Recreational Craft Directive (RCD 2013/53/UE), its origin, and how it works. This first part will help us to get used to the vocabulary and how the directive works. This is not the most technical part, but it will allow us to get into the subject. 🔶 Part two describes the Essential Requirements of the RCD, what they are, and how to meet them. We will talk about boats, not only the directive’s text. In the end, you will be able to understand the Essential Requirements and the hazards to deal with. This is the most important and longest part because it is the very essence of the directive: the protection from hazards linked to the product. 🔶 Part three discusses the certification process, the actors, and the tools used. It is more about the procedure and all the practical aspects of the CE Certification for boat builders: What must I do? Who do I need to contact? What will it be requested? 🔶 Part four is devoted to the documentation requested by the directive. It answers the following questions: What will it be requested? And furthermore, what is it, and what does it involve? With a long sample of a written declaration of conformity analysis, you will discover how to complete it and also the legal aspects of these documents. 🔶 Finally, part five addresses Market Surveillance and how states are involved. The expandable helipad on board the 103m (337ft) superyacht ULYSSES tells a great story of how the yacht was built. Ulysses began with the most challenging of briefs. The highly experienced owner specified that the new Ulysses should offer the same lifestyle and amenities as his previous 6,000GT vessel but condensed into a package of around half the size, enabling easier access to a broader range of anchorages and harbours. Interestingly, with regulations tightening for yachts over 3,000GT, more owners and shipyards are leaning towards these compact designs. The result Feadship managed to produce is a remarkably spacious yacht of just under 3,000GT, with all the amenities the owner requested. The helipad now extends when the helicopter is on board, and it also features a helicopter hangar below it. Feadship even managed to fit a two-tier engine room on just one deck, devoting more space to guest areas. See if you can spot Ulysses’s support vessel, U-81, in the background, which usually carries the helicopter along with all the other toys.

BOAT International Media analyzed the sales data for 2024, and found that the total market size added up to 711.9 million Euros. The top 10 most expensive yacht sold last year range between 60 and 90 meters, and 70% have a Quantum system installed.
