Dr. Bruce Damer suggests that humanity may be on the brink of a “fourth path for psychedelics,” to amp up our nerdiest states for creative breakthroughs in science, technology, design, and leadership. Damer writes, "To pursue this new path for psychedelic research and practice, a new organization has been formed: The Center for MINDS, an acronym for Multidisciplinary Investigations into Novel Discoveries and Solutions." #Zoomposium-Interview with Prof. Dr. #Gerhard #Roth "How real is #consciousness?" An interview with the very well known and renowned German brain researcher, neurobiologist and philosopher Prof. Dr. Dr. Gerhard Roth on the topic "Constitution of Consciousness" from a neuroscientific and philosophical point of view. Interview questions: "How real is consciousness?" 1. Professor Dr. Roth, does the world exist only in the brain or is there also a reality outside? 2. Is there a "hard problem" or an "explanatory gap" for you regarding the constitution of consciousness? 3. If consciousness exists in the "1st person perspective" for you, where would you locate it or how could it arise? 4. If there were a "window into the brain", how exactly would thoughts be represented e.g. as "brain reading"? 5. Do you think a transmission of neuronal structures via BCIs ("brain-computer-interfaces") in the form of an "It form Bit" (Wheeler) is feasible? 6. You mentioned in your book "Fühlen, Denken, Handeln" (2001) that "our conscious ego" is like a government spokesman who has to interpret and legitimize things whose reasons and background he does not know at all." Would you still formulate this in the same pointed way today? 7. In the "Manifesto of Brain Research" of 2004, a "new image of man" was proclaimed. Will this prediction come true in the future? The interview with Professor Dr. Gerhard Roth, which I conducted with my very esteemed blogger colleague Axel Stöcker of "Der Blog der großen Fragen", is available in full length on our joint Youtube channel "Zoomposium". Ground-breaking DMT Research, Entities & Alien Worlds | Neuroscientist, Andrew Gallimore Neuroscientist and DMT researcher, Dr. Andrew Gallimore returns to the mind meld! In this one, we dive deep on visionary molecules like DMT. Is it possible that it opens your brain up to alien communication or even other realms? What do these experiences of high-strangeness tell us about consciousness? We also riff on the incredible DMTx (extended-state) studies coming out of Imperial College London, the unbelievable research on the horizon, and much more. https://lnkd.in/dmJ9yJua

In 1814, the polymath Pierre Simon Laplace posited that "We may regard the present state of the universe as the effect of its past and the cause of its future". Next Monday 19th August, at EPIC People conference 2024, Cyril Maury will examine this core idea – the fact that what will happen next is determined by what happened before – from different vantage points: neuroscience (Hebbian plasticity, Canalization), economic theory (Bayes’s Theorem) and organizational theory. How and how much does legacy narrow down what is possible next? How can we, at the individual and collective levels, carve out the space for alternative, unexpected futures?

Being busy permanently reduces your ability to think: Recent research shows that constant busyness can stifle creativity and our ability to think deeply. To protect our brains, it is (according to science) necessary to balance intense focus with idleness. However, in our fast-paced world, where every spare moment is filled with checking our phones, this reset is often neglected. This constant stimulation trains our brains to crave busyness, making it harder to disconnect. Neuroscientist Daniel Levitin highlights these concerns in his book, The Organized Mind. He pointed out that information overload keeps us trapped in a cycle of noise, sapping both our willpower and creativity. Levitin explains that, to prevent overload, we need to hit the reset button, which means carving space in your day for lying around, meditating, or staring off into nothing.
