We are thrilled to announce our latest publication in the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems: **"User Centric Satellite Handover for Multiple Traffic Profiles Using Deep Q-Learning."** Authored by Nour Badini, Mona Jaber, Mario Marchese, and Fabio Patrone. In this groundbreaking study, we address the challenges posed by the high-speed mobility of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, which can negatively impact users' Quality of Service (QoS) due to frequent handovers. Our research focuses on optimizing satellite handovers by considering the diverse traffic profiles of User Equipments (UEs) to ensure seamless connectivity and superior performance. 🚀 Key Highlights: - **Multi-Agent Deep Q-Network (MADQN) Strategy**: Introducing a novel user-centric approach that is the first of its kind to cater to the varied performance requirements and traffic profiles of UEs. - **Significant Reductions**: Achieved approximately 60% reduction in handover rate and around 91% reduction in blocking rate compared to traditional single-criterion methods. - **Next-Generation Applications**: Designed to support a wide spectrum of applications, including Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, and Internet of Things (IoT). Our method showcases the potential of leveraging advanced deep learning techniques to optimize satellite resources, prevent network congestion, and enhance overall user experience in satellite-terrestrial integrated networks.
