The first day of the #FCSComex2023 has brought a few things into focus that I hope that you will find helpful. 1. Cross-industry collaboration is gaining momentum. The conference embraces the convergence of communications, radio, and vehicle installations/ tracking. I haven't seen this before. It's been in the back of mind that bringing these elements together is important. What this conference is highlighting is that this is important and urgent. 2. Collaboration between industry bodies is also on the rise which is good news for everyone. The FCS, Comms Council and newly launched Fit2Switch are working together to help technology companies and their customers benefit from the infrastructure changes that are happening now as BT switches the old network off. 3. There is a ton of opportunity for resellers now. £2billion in West Midlands, £2 billion in Greater Manchester and more beyond. However, resellers are needing to implement the digitisation of their own businesses against the backdrop of an economic crisis and big regulatory changes. This is one heck of a pile of plates to spin. How do you prioritise? My advice would be to accept that this industry is at a pivotal point. It won't be the same in 12 months' time. Answer the question: "should I stay or should I go"? Don't rush the answer. Form clear reasons for going one way or the other. If your answer is I am going to stay, then I would suggest prioritising the digitisation of your own business because this will help to create alignment with buyers, provide clear sight of how to comply with regulations so that you can plan, and give a solid foundation to the expansion of your portfolio in a way that will help you to grow profitably.
