Violence knows no bounds; it exists without gradations of severity. Gender-based violence permeates every layer of society, silently corroding our communities. It's said that Nigerians often react rather than anticipate, but the NUJ, in partnership with Kolors of Afrika TV, is challenging this narrative by taking a proactive stance. Together, we are committed to educating our youth on tangible and lasting solutions to eradicate gender-based violence once and for all. We invite you to join us in this transformative endeavor, to make yourself available for what promises to be an impactful experience—one that has the potential to shape lives for a lifetime. Together, let's stand against gender-based violence and create a safer, more equitable future for all.

HELP US TO HELP THEM! Our young people deserve better. The fight against Serious Youth Violence is not for any one man, any one woman or any one entity. Silence or a lack of interest against this public health crisis is a violation to the very fabric of our being. There are many issues that feed the root causes of knife crime. Our children are fighting in the streets, but the majority of the problems are in the system that have a duty of care to our children. The systemic issues need to be urgently addressed. Although social media plays a part in the problems we face with our youth, the systemic issues are much harder to resolve. Conflict resolution does not start with two young people in a room, it starts with identifying and addressing all the root causes of Serious Youth Violence and implementing the solutions for change. How do you manage a community of people with the same attitude of nonchalance and lack of proactive action towards the better future of the community Being positively different can be dangerous in a society where complacency and ineptitude has become the norm. You must be strategic with your approach in problem solving, else you might end up becoming the problem to those you're want to help. #AfricaInPicture #Nigeria #strategiccommunications

Gender-based violence remains a systemic problem in many working sectors. It takes place in many forms, from physical abuse, rape, bullying, and economic suppression. Grassroots-level NGOs are typically deeply rooted in the local communities they operate in. They have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs of the community members and can tailor their programs and interventions accordingly. By strengthening their capacity, grassroots NGOs and CBOs can improve their ability to address these challenges effectively and implement sustainable solutions that are culturally relevant, and community led. Khulisa has 26 years of experience in working with grassroot NGOs and CBOs to implement interventions for peace-making, youth development, empowerment, and social cohesion. With a comprehensive understanding of the GBV situation in our country and the National Strategic Plan on Gender-based Violence and Femicide (NSP-GBVF), our data-driven capacitation programme is specifically designed for NGOs and CBOs to strengthen strategies and programmes to address GBV in the mining sector. Today Is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Economic hardship often increases vulnerability to exploitation, abuse, and violence. For many survivors, the path to recovery is blocked by financial barriers that keep them trapped in cycles of trauma and poverty. At @Wangu Kanja Foundation, we believe in breaking this cycle through survivor empowerment. This by providing support such as access to legal aid, mental health services and economic opportunities that help in reclaiming their lives and build a future of dignity and independence. When survivors are given the tools to thrive, we are one step closer to breaking the chains of poverty and violence. #EndPoverty #RestoringDignity

Domestic violence is a critical issue that affects millions of individuals around the world, transcending age, race, religion, and socioeconomic status. It's a destructive pattern of behavior in a relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain control over another intimate partner. Many forms of abuse are included in domestic violence: physical, sexual, emotional, economic, and psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. This includes any behaviors that intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, or wound someone. Domestic violence can happen to anyone, and it's not just a private matter or a family issue; it's a societal problem that requires a collective response. We must all be vigilant and proactive in our efforts to prevent it, support survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable. Education, awareness, and community involvement are key components in combating domestic violence. Together, we can create a culture that does not tolerate violence and fosters healthy, respectful, and non-violent relationships.

Transformational Change Consultant/Delivery Partner making change happen -"Together unlocking potential", we believe Health and Social Care Systems, Organisation's, People, Communities have more to offer.
It is very concerning to see and read about people's livelihood being destroyed and targeted, once again by misinformation and false information. Everyone is working really hard to make ends meet and build a better life for themselves and their families, through meaningful contribution to society. The pandemic has impacted many businesses and families in many ways. Life is tough enough without others making it harder for others. My full empathies are with individuals, families, communities and businesses impacted by this incident. I myself have experienced abuse and found myself caught in situations of unacceptable social behaviour, aggression and violence, a trauma within itself/very distressing and can impact individual mental health and wellbeing. Also, negatively impacts the businesses, be very distressing for families, children, young people, elders and communities/neighbourhoods. The Muslim community and South Asian communities have for decades contributed to society in many meaningful ways, like many other faith groups and communities. The Muslim community and South Asian communities have a number of their own collective but diverse challenges just like many other faith groups, communities but still stand united when it comes to common and humanitarian causes impacting society and continue to play their part to create a better society for todays generations and future generations to come. Let's not destroy that unity and meaningful contribution that the Muslim and South Asian Community and these businesses, communities and families are adding to the multicultural society in the UK. Let's work towards deescalating and diffusion of the situation and conflict, there by harmony, not divide.
