Sweet dreams in the sky? Dirk Nowitzki is already counting sheep (or clouds) in our extra-long bed, available in the new Lufthansa Allegris Business Class.
Looks like he liked it, and to show you all the other special features of the new Lufthansa Allegris, we might need to invite him for another video ... or you could just try them out yourself, if you don't sleep through the flight. ☁️

Ever been on a flight with limited or no food? 🥐 🧀 Not the best when you're up early for a meeting and racing against time.
Our in-depth research into turnarounds revealed that the top performers start catering tasks a whopping 73 minutes before takeoff—29 minutes earlier than the worst performers. Those inefficient ones not only take longer (12 minutes more!), but they also start later and finish perilously close to departure time. Talk about room for error and the potential for some seriously hangry passengers!

Thank you, Becky Schmooke for your post. I initially came across your post on my Facebook feed and then found your profile on LinkedIn with the same message.
I love the response from pilot Eric Sinn, who is a fantastic example of leadership.
Your post highlights a crucial business attribute: 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽
Here's my takeaway from your story....
In times of uncertainty and the unknown, visible leadership is a guiding light. As a visible leader, you're actively engaged, communicate effectively, and lead by example. You foster trust, inspiring confidence, and promoting a sense of belonging among your team and stakeholders.
It is your responsibility to guide your organization, people and stakeholders through challenges and crises with reassurance and stability. Visible leadership isn't about being in the spotlight but empowering others and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

To the pilot that showed your face, I wish I remembered your name but this - thank you.
I was looking down at my phone when the pilot started talking- normally there is nothing to see when the pilot talks. This time there was.
Standing outside of the cockpit he started his preflight announcement explaining why he was in front of us all.
“I started doing this during Covid and have kept doing it because I want you to know how much I appreciate you and I think it’s important that you know who is flying your plane.”
He then continued with a transparency that I don’t often hear, explaining his plan on handling the weather and the “why” behind his decision to have the flight attendants be seated for longer than normal during a flight. He peppered in some humor and we got on our way.
Throughout the flight he would keep us updated on his plan and changes to it. After hitting some turbulence he didn’t just turn the seatbelt sign on, but with a familiar casual but confident tone explained that he wasn’t happy with what he was seeing at that altitude and was going to figure out a better positioning and to bear with him as he did so.
Instead of it being an anonymous pilot’s voice coming from the intercom, we all knew exactly who was making the announcements and it made, at least for me, a difference.
A face to the voice- it matters.
I smiled to myself as we made touched down in Chicago, I had the perfect new story to share the next time I speak to a group of CEOs/executives on the importance of putting in the time to make sure their employees see their faces and not just their emails.
I had to do a classic O’Hare sprint to my next flight so didn’t have a chance to thank him in person, but I hope that the pilot knows that his leadership is appreciated.
****And to the pilot on a different flight who thanked us for “flying the so called friendly skies,” your decision to say “so called” made me laugh- so thank you!

Connect and win. Email and phone calls are efficient and certainly play an important role in effective communication, both within an organization and externally. Video calls, if used when in-person meetings are not practical, can be even better. But…
Nothing connects people like sitting in front of each other and having a conversation. The business partner, client, vendor, coworker, or even an adversary, is not some faceless voice or just text on a screen. It’s a person, like you, with emotions and experiences that shape how they interact with you.
By meeting with someone in person, you’re more open to actually understand and *appreciate* where they’re coming from, and for them to appreciate where you’re coming from, when you make certain asks or respond to theirs. By *connecting* with others, we all win.
Thank you to Becky Schmooke for this story.
