If there is a type of visit we enjoy, it’s students! We had a great time receiving the Upward Bound Math & Science program as part of their Summer Camp's "Stem Career Day". This federal project is administered by the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla Campus, and works with high school youth in order to help motivate and support them to pursue studies. Thank you for your interest in LTPR! ✈️💙🛠 #Aviotioneers

Interesting read and some very good points. There is a high need for more practical career advising in higher education institutions. Graduates need skills to be prepared for the workforce, not just head knowledge on a certain topic.
Love that our LSU Olinde Career Center team gets to be the driver of this work at Louisiana State University. It helps to have buy in from great faculty and staff partners across the campus. https://lnkd.in/gj_6KQJm

From Research to Roll Tide! Being a graduate student at The University of Alabama Graduate School is a journey filled with passion, dedication, and the vibrant spirit of the Crimson Tide! Roll Tide! Roll Tide!! Our days are steeped in research, where curiosity meets discovery, pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation. It’s about being part of a legacy where every study, every experiment, and every paper contributes to a world of progress. Yes, the campus is vast, and our ambitions are even vaster! We navigate through the expansive #UA campus with GPS in hand, because every building is a new adventure, every lab a new challenge. The library can feel like a second home, where books and journals consume our downtime and accompany our meals. But don’t be fooled, this is where dreams are crafted, where the next breakthroughs in academia are quietly brewing in the minds of tomorrow’s leaders. And while our schedules are packed, we still find those precious moments to connect with the heartbeat of #ua - the undergrads, the football chants, and of course, our furry little friends, the squirrels! They’re a reminder of the joy and whimsy that can be found even in the most rigorous academic pursuits. I come from Nigeria, a land rich in culture and spirit, and I have found a second home here in Alabama, amidst a community as diverse as it is welcoming. Alabama isn’t just a place ‘where legends are made’; it’s a place where every student—no matter where they come from—can feel at home. We are the graduate students of #UA, crafting our own legends, one discovery, one friendship, and one ‘Roll Tide!’ at a time. This isn’t just a university; it’s a place where our tales unfold, and where every day we’re proud to say: This is WHERE LEGENDS ARE MADE! Final Decision. Some of you know that I have been blessed to get into Underwood International College - Yonsei University, which takes pride in its American Liberal Arts Approach. Moreover, I was humbled to be awarded a full-tuition scholarship for four years, which makes it even foolish to reject. However, I decided to. Yet, as we say, this is what it is. There are solid reasons for this decision. However irrational it may seem, I pursued a different path, which is not attending to the college. As of June 14, I have talked to many people, including Yonsei students, Ivy League students, Ivy League student mentors, and those who never went to college or attended locally. As Maimonides put it, "The risk of a wrong decision is preferable to the terror of indecision." The decision was not made lightly. Still, I don't know whether it was right or not, but the question is not in its accuracy but in my rational choice of opportunity cost, which is all about trade-offs. Now, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed, believed, and supported me along the way. I could include the names, but it is so extensive that I am afraid I can't fit them all into one passage. With this message, I want to say that it is not about the family, college, country, or the world; it is about us who are in them. It is us who make all the difference. It is the little things that are satisfying. I'd say don't depend solely on any option; set yourself free, as it is the ultimate destination of all teachings. Make the decision that you think is right but beware of the consequences to the circle, which is more than you. Yes, it sounds foolish, but as Forrest ForrestGump said, "Life is a box of chocolates; you never know what you will get.

According to US News, honors colleges and honors programs are as much about recruiting students as they are about the educational experience they offer. Students need to research the ins and outs of the honors options and understand their pluses and minuses. Here are some things to consider: How rigorous are the honors classes? How big are the honors classes? Who teaches the honors classes? What is the mix of honors and non-honors classes students take over the course of their four years of study? Is there a thesis or capstone requirement? What kind of mentoring and advising is offered? Does the honors college or program have a residential component? Does the honors college or program give students priority registration? Does the honors college or program have an entry point for students during their first or second year? Are honors students well integrated into the campus life and welcomed in clubs and organizations? Does the honors college or program provide merit aid? #honorscollege #honorcollege #honorsprogram #honorprogram #honorsprograms #highschoolstudent #highschooljunior #university
