Excited to share that I'm participating in the Select USA Investment Summit for the first time! At the Office of Apprenticeship, I've been able to leverage my intercultural and German language skills to provide technical assistance (TA) to companies from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Through the SelectTalentUSA initiative, we assist companies based in these countries in establishing and expanding their workforce in the US via the National Registered Apprenticeship System. 🔶In the ever-changing world of global education, it's easy to become indifferent to buzzwords like geopolitical shifts, the challenges of the green and digital transitions, technological advancements, and social fragility. And then suddenly there’s a moment of clarity when these megatrends and our work comes together in a meaningful way. I experienced this very feeling just this week while opening an important event – the Skills Fair on Quality Apprenticeships - organised with the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITCILO) here in Turin. 🔶Apprenticeships, a well-established method of combining education with work-based learning, emerged as a possible area for #innovation. Amidst the current global discourse on re-skilling and up-skilling among different age-groups to tackle the complexities of our time, apprenticeships stand out as a possible tangible solution. Our discussions, featuring voices from across the world of #apprenticeships - including workers, employers, intergovernmental organisations, and government bodies - underscored 'collaboration' as the way forward. #Collaboration is at the heart of high-quality apprenticeships and our ambitious #global agenda.   🔶 Reflecting on our conversations, I was reminded of our work on the Youth Guarantee, reinforcing a conviction I hold dear: 👉young people aren't merely the future; they are the present👈. This is especially relevant in the field of apprenticeships, which holds the promise of inclusivity and opportunity for all age groups. 🇪🇺 2nd General Assembly On Mobility Of Apprentices in Brussels saw profound learning experiences on its second day. Reflecting on the insightful lessons from day 1's technico-thematic sessions at Le Comité européen des régions featuring prominent figures like Sophia Eriksson Waterschoot, Nelly FESSEAU, Marie-Pierre Vedrenne and François Decoster. Many thanks to Susanne Klimmer, Marine Briou-Rolle and Oscar Palazon for their reporting.   Following these discussions, Jean Arthuis initiated a "Call for Actions towards a European area for apprenticeship & vocational training", supported by the contributions of the commissioner for jobs and social rights Nicolas Schmit or Ilana Cicurel, Laurence Farreng, and Sylvie Brunet, members of the European Parliament, as well as Patricia Demas, member of the French Sénat.   Our engaging panel discussion further enriched the dialogue, featuring esteemed speakers including Valentina Guerra, Maxime Cerutti, Jean-Michel Pottier, Christelle BLANDIN, and Ben Butters.   Concluding the day's proceedings were remarks from Stefan Olsson and Jean Arthuis, encapsulating the day's insights and setting the stage for continued collaboration towards advancing apprenticeship and vocational training in Europe.   Call for action : towards an European Area for Apprenticeship and Vocational Training : https://lnkd.in/erzB5EK4 #France2030 #EU #EuroAppMobility #EAM #Apprenticeship #EuropeanParliament
